An error occurred while saving the comment Austin commentedNot the brightest idea. It promotes discrimination and it closes doors instead of opening them.
There's not much difference between a personable/attractive 21-year-old and a personable/attractive 23-year-old. There's not much difference between a nice 39-year-old and a nice 32-year-old.
The age boundaries are totally arbitrary.
Most of us probably are wrong by 5 or 10 years when we look at a person's face/body and try to guess how old they are.

An error occurred while saving the comment Austin commentedI like the idea of charging for an identity verification, then allowing a user to filter for verified profiles only.
Austin supported this idea ·An error occurred while saving the comment Austin commented50% of the profiles in my town are fake. You can be smart and ask them a lot of questions, to weed out the fakes before you talk about anything serious, but that is time consuming and takes the fun out of this site.
An error occurred while saving the comment Austin commentedThere was a dating site called RealJock. During registration, they put a 6-digit alphanumeric code on the screen. The code was unique for each user. If you wanted the "verified" badge on your profile, you needed to take a photo holding the alphanumeric code on paper. A moderator would look to see if your face photo with the code matched your face photo you previously uploaded.
An error occurred while saving the comment Austin commentedYes - use credit card verification or ID verification before the person's profile can be approved.
An error occurred while saving the comment Austin commentedWe need this. It seems like Grindr is not even trying to address this problem. Since you already have moderators who approve photos, maybe use them to do this.

An error occurred while saving the comment Austin commentedRight! There might be someone who you aren't interested in right now, but you don't hate them and you wouldn't mind if they said hello. You just don't need to see them every single time you load the app.

An error occurred while saving the comment Austin commentedYes! Like the old AOL buddy lists. You could name the list whatever you wanted. They were private to you.
That way you could keep lists for friends, guys you want to meet, or people from your hometown or college town.

An error occurred while saving the comment Austin commentedThis is not a good solution.
I have had long-term, mutually wanted friendships and relationships with guys of all ages, including some much older than me, and some much younger than me. I try to get along with everyone and be a good neighbor and good friend. I try to be supportive of everyone.
We need to focus on good behavior in general, not a discriminatory feature like age blocking. I think that if someone is nasty to you, whatever their age, you should be able to get Grindr to ban them.
We are all in the same village, the same community. People of every age can be supportive of each other and kind to each other. That makes us stronger as a community.
Austin supported this idea ·An error occurred while saving the comment Austin commentedDisagree. But I think there should be a profile field where you can describe the type of guy (or age) you're into.

An error occurred while saving the comment Austin commentedIn that small space, the guy has to prove to you that he's not a bot, not an addict, has a career, has similar interests to you, and more. So yeah, we need longer profiles.
