@Delmar walton - Currently on iPhone we can’t change the iconic well known sound unfortunately. On Android open Settings - Go to Notifications - App Notifications - Tap Grindr from the list - Tap Notification Categories - Tap the category you want to change the sound for - make sure Alert is selected then tap sound then you should be able to select a different sound for that category. Do this for all the notification categories you would like to change the sound for. Hope this helps.

This absolutely needs to happen, the Grindr sound is very distinctive, and if it goes off accidentally there is a very real risk of it out-ing someone. There must be an option to use a default iOS/Android notification sound.

Dont do any sound when u send a message. That sound is very particular and is not a discret function, as the apparience theme of the chat should be possible to change the colours so u can use it erverywhere. I traveled around World where it s not safe someone use this app. Sounds and appariences get us in risks

Custom notification sounds via the Apple tone library and/or new Grindr specific ones. The Grindr sound is classic, but I have to mute the app since it has become so recognizable over the years. We should be able to set our own alert sounds.

It's something they do in text apps, so why not Grindr?

Please restore the original message notification sound as an option and restore the profile subcategory filter that was removed at your most recent update.
