Bring back the old blocking button. The Hide function is ridiculous. It doesn't even work, the profile stays on the grid, taps + messages.
The old block button was much safer and user friendly then the new hide option. The hide button doesn't even work. If you hide a profile they stay on your grid, there taps and messages are still there, if they were in your favourites list they stay in your favourites list. So it's a completely redundant option as it doesn't actually hide anything.

Bots
This app is full of bots taking up spaces on my timeline then there are the messages from fake profiles promoting porn sites My view is these are from Grindr to push users having to see the adverts for crap apps It really is making Grindr unusable

Spammers
Block Spam by introducing spam control measures! Spam bots don't register a in the viewed you tab. Silently introduce an anti spam feature where you cannot tap, message or do anything until you've spent atleast 5 seconds viewing their profile, or enough time that you would have atleast registered as 'viewed me' in the event they are 'incognito'. Additionally, introduce a feature where you can't tap or message a new profile within 60 seconds of tapping or within 3 minutes of messaging someone.

Please get rid of the AI
I understand the desire for AI functionality. I’m not even telling you to delete it altogether. However, the feature feeds off my private information that I would like to be kept in between me and users I message. Yet it’s going to use my data to sell whatever back to me. I don’t want it and I opted out clearly. However every single time I open the app it gives me the choice to accept or decline. Probably 30 times by now. I’m tired of having to decline every time when I know if I accept, it’ll never pop up…

only fans and trans prostitutes
90% of the pokes I get are either trans prostitutes or only fans content creators begging and scrounging for people to pay to look at their junk. They are poking, but not viewing my profile. I automatically report all profiles as spam that poke without viewing. Grindr must have a way to quickly isolate all profiles that poke without viewing and block their IP address permanently.

Blocked Chat Retention
Recently was assaulted by someone met of Grindr. After the incident I was blocked by the assailant and I no longer had the chats as evidence. If someone blocks you it shouldn't delete the chat stream. Delete media and pics maybe, but leave the chats.

Remove the AI feature
Remove the AI feature as it appears to be creating fake/spam accounts and spamming users. I have been contacted by 4 accounts using AI generated images of females (clear they are AI) and this probably won't get through to support. I have screenshots of these accounts but there have been many more.

How about you make it so that there aren’t a bunch of cis losers impersonating trans women….i don’t see anyone impersonating cis gay men???? All you have to do is create some sort of authenticating handshake for ppl to verify their socials by logging in. We’ve been able to authentic Spotify accounts on tinder since Obama was president, wtf is going on here with the expensive app, what are your devs doing?

Block is no longer available
The block option is no longer available and was replaced by the hide option. Blocking a user is an essential safety tool in Grindr that can protect us from violence and harassment. Disabling it put in risk the safety and privacy of Grindr users.

Bots/fakes
App is essentially useless because 90% of messages are from bots/fakes. The only remedy would be authenticating new users at set up. Till then I’m canceling my paid subscription and deleting my account.

Fake accounts…Subscribe to my onlyfans
The biggest pain point I’ve had on Grindr is the constant flood of fake and bot accounts. A lot of them use the same bait phrases like “subscribe to my OnlyFans.” These profiles are misleading, contribute nothing to genuine connection on the app, and honestly make the platform feel cheapened.
My short-term solution is to report and block/ hide them, but that still means wasted time and energy that I shouldn’t have to spend. The real issue is that Grindr doesn’t have a strong enough system in place to filter and prevent these accounts from being created in the first…

I do not want Grindr to recommend chats, and I'm certainly not going to pay for the feature. In fact I would block most of the profiles that are listed (first two in list were crossdressers). If Grindr can keep all of its AI profiles in this area and off my grid then it's useful. Otherwise it's waste of space that I don't want to see.

Profile pics
Could it be possible to have a feature that anyone who does not have a profile pic not be able to message you. I don’t want someone who has a landscape pic or some random pic messaging me. It’s a waste of time. It’s dumb to hear someone say “sorry I’m DL I don’t send pics” NP no chat should be a feature you can turn on to block users who will not send a headshot or a pics of who they are. Or maybe have it as a filter.

Do something about all the fake bot accounts!
So many fake bot accounts using the same 4 pictures. How many spam reports need to be received before something is done. Maybe some sort of verification needs to be put in place. Like getting a code texted to you or something when you make a new account. This is getting really ridiculous having half of my feed covered in bot accounts. I mean what do we pay for xtra or unlimited for if all we are seeing is more of the same bot accounts?
