2. Bring back the old blocking button. The Hide function is ridiculous. It doesn't even work, the profile stays on the grid, taps + messages.

   The old block button was much safer and user friendly then the new hide option. The hide button doesn't even work. If you hide a profile they stay on your grid, there taps and messages are still there, if they were in your favourites list they stay in your favourites list. So it's a completely redundant option as it doesn't actually hide anything.

   This app is full of bots taking up spaces on my timeline then there are the messages from fake profiles promoting porn sites My view is these are from Grindr to push users having to see the adverts for crap apps It really is making Grindr unusable

   Block Spam by introducing spam control measures! Spam bots don't register a in the viewed you tab. Silently introduce an anti spam feature where you cannot tap, message or do anything until you've spent atleast 5 seconds viewing their profile, or enough time that you would have atleast registered as 'viewed me' in the event they are 'incognito'. Additionally, introduce a feature where you can't tap or message a new profile within 60 seconds of tapping or within 3 minutes of messaging someone.

   Context: Recently, there have been several serious incidents reported in Belgium and France where people have used the Grindr app to lure victims into homophobic traps, leading to tragic outcomes, including scams, theft, severe violence, and even, in some cases, death. While it’s impossible to completely eliminate risks, it is crucial to enhance the safety of all users.

   Proposal: It is urgent to implement features that allow users to assess the reliability of the profiles they interact with, to better protect themselves. This could include a trust score, based on various criteria such as account age, frequency of logins, validation by other users, etc., or even an optional certification confirming that the user matches their photos.

   Such features would not only improve safety by providing users with indicators of trustworthiness but also foster a more positive and secure environment on the platform.

7. Remove audio greeting that force plays even in silent mode when you open the app

   You are not allowed to force play a damn audio file when I open your app, with my phone on silent mode, announcing that I just opened Grindr to the whole room. In what alternate universe was it a good idea in anyone’s head to announce that someone is opening the Grindr app? An app that is known worldwide as the place where married men go to cheat on their wives with slutty gay dudes? No one is proud to have this app. Especially not now it has become such trash. This is a violation of the App Store and apples policies, its a violation of the users privacy rights, and you’re going to make it stop immediately. 8. Please get rid of the AI

   I understand the desire for AI functionality. I’m not even telling you to delete it altogether. However, the feature feeds off my private information that I would like to be kept in between me and users I message. Yet it’s going to use my data to sell whatever back to me. I don’t want it and I opted out clearly. However every single time I open the app it gives me the choice to accept or decline. Probably 30 times by now. I’m tired of having to decline every time when I know if I accept, it’ll never pop up again. It feels as if I have no choice. If you keep this up, I’ll just delete the app and never use it again.

   App is essentially useless because 90% of messages are from bots/fakes. The only remedy would be authenticating new users at set up. Till then I’m canceling my paid subscription and deleting my account.

10. only fans and trans prostitutes

    90% of the pokes I get are either trans prostitutes or only fans content creators begging and scrounging for people to pay to look at their junk. They are poking, but not viewing my profile. I automatically report all profiles as spam that poke without viewing. Grindr must have a way to quickly isolate all profiles that poke without viewing and block their IP address permanently.

11. Fake accounts…Subscribe to my onlyfans

    The biggest pain point I’ve had on Grindr is the constant flood of fake and bot accounts. A lot of them use the same bait phrases like “subscribe to my OnlyFans.” These profiles are misleading, contribute nothing to genuine connection on the app, and honestly make the platform feel cheapened.

    My short-term solution is to report and block/ hide them, but that still means wasted time and energy that I shouldn’t have to spend. The real issue is that Grindr doesn’t have a strong enough system in place to filter and prevent these accounts from being created in the first place. Until that changes, it feels like users are left to do the cleanup work themselves.

12. Do something about all the fake bot accounts!

    So many fake bot accounts using the same 4 pictures. How many spam reports need to be received before something is done. Maybe some sort of verification needs to be put in place. Like getting a code texted to you or something when you make a new account. This is getting really ridiculous having half of my feed covered in bot accounts. I mean what do we pay for xtra or unlimited for if all we are seeing is more of the same bot accounts?

13. Right now feature

    There is a map now inside the right now feature?! Why? Leaving it on the grid type or list worked fine. No reason the map needs to show my location or anyone else’s UNTIL both parties agree to meeting and they can swap locations as we have done before.
    I get that updates are needed but this is ridiculous. HUGE SAFETY RISK

    An optional profile verification system (selfie/ID based) should be added to the app, after which users receive a blue tick/verified badge. This will reduce fake profiles and catfishing, and real users will not have to repeatedly prove their identity.

    Remove the AI feature as it appears to be creating fake/spam accounts and spamming users. I have been contacted by 4 accounts using AI generated images of females (clear they are AI) and this probably won't get through to support. I have screenshots of these accounts but there have been many more.

    Managing waste in a business can become a real headache when collections are inconsistent, pricing isn’t clear, and support is slow. 18. Maybe fix your total lack of safety measures

    It is beyond horrific that this app is infested with fake profiles and bots. Even your damn ads consist of viruses. It is so hard for a normal person to create a profile and yet scammers have no issues getting access to this app and YOU DO NOTHING ABOUT IT. The last six months have been a bot hell and when you get a report you never react to it. It just says awaiting moderation. What in the lords name do you even spend your money on? You want people to pay... but for what?

    Add mandatory face verification and a blue tick system for verified users to ensure authentic profiles, reduce fake and timepass accounts, and improve safety and trust on the platform. Currently, genuine users with real profile photos often still need to repeatedly prove their identity. With face verification, users can verify once and then get a visible “verified” label or blue tick on their profile, similar to Tinder, so their authenticity is clearly shown without repeated proof.

    You have done nothing about his guy who happens to say he is the same distance away same age as the other stalker scammer criminals that have been harassing me. He is is definitely not legit and you know he isn't yet here he is. So no you are not taking any of this seirous at all. He has been harassing me to send him money for gas for over 4 months now. Give me a break this is one is blatantly obvious that you either don't care or that you are directly involved. I think you are directly involved. You have all these Trans profiles that are totally fake. And the more you block/hide them the more it attracts to your profile and it's completely inappropriate for grindr to be used as a platform for them anyway it's not what gay and bi men are looking for. And it's not good for them either. Do you think it makes them feel good that 90% of the real profiles on here are not interested in them and don't want them on grindr? It's in everyone's best interest for them to have their own platform advertised toward them and men who are interested in them rather than tell the gay/bi community that we have to give up the platform that was designed and marketed for men looking for other men. Then there are the onlyfans.com jackasses. These guys many of whom advertise their only fans right in their profile which is clearly against your community standards who are so numerous and constant it's just maddening. No one is on grinder because they want to go to a different platform where the chat is not free in hopes that one of these again most likely fake guys will sleep with them in exchange for subscribing to their page. Do you know what the law calls that? The law calls it prostitution which is illegal in that way pretty much everywhere. Even in Nevada where it's legal its not legal like that. And that brings me to the conclusion of this lengthy rant that I doubt anyone will even read. That being grindr is doing all this why? Because the more people on the platform the more it's worth. You are bolstering your platform whith fake profiles and bots to make it seem bigger than it actually is. But bots and fake profiles don't pay subscriptions or buy merchandise or actually account for any real increase in value of the app in fact they devalue it because because it's annoying to your actual customers and has potential legal ramifications. So if you were to go and try to sell the company you would actually be intentionally misleading any potential buyer as to what the company is worth and what they should pay for it which is absolutely illegal as well. Grinder can do as they want I don't care at this point but don't be insulting by saying that you take any of this seriously when you are at least 50% of the problem. They may be your community standards rules and guidelines and not laws persay but there are laws that require you to follow your own publicly posted standards.
