2. Save the Unit System Choice

   When I log back in after logging out, my choice for unit system in settings has been reset. I use metric and it defaults back to imperial. There should be a way of saving this in a user's profile.

3. Ability to disable account and reenable account rather then deleting account

   When taking a break from Grindr all I can do is delete account. Would be great if I could just hide account for a while and just enable when I come back. I had a lot of drama restoring subscription last time I removed my account.

4. Dump the foreign bots

   It is increasingly useless to even use the app because each time I login within seconds I get 5+ bots or foreign accounts claiming close proximity.

   I understand that it would be incredibly difficult to try and keep them in check but I offer up two simple solutions. Since VPNs make it hard to accurately track a user location I would first see if their ip address location changes drastically from time to time then make them first pass a ‘r u human’ test the next time they want to send a message. So people using random vpns can still use it but bots will require someone on the front end. Next use device gyroscopic functions to see that the device is in someone’s hands moving regularly before allowing to send a message. Next if a user sends messages to multiple people in less than x number of seconds this is less likely someone who isn’t just spamming everyone.

5. Ads! Too many ads! Hundreds of complaints and you've done nothing but make it worse!

   How about just shorter ads. Do you want to go the way of MySpace? Get rid of these long loud ads! Boycotting until this has changed.

7. Get rid of trans from Grindr. Real men only

   Please Grindr, remove all profiles from the app that are not biological men who are men. Trans, non-binary, "straight men" who look for "trans only"

   Grindr is for men. Real men. Not "cis" men, not "amab men". Just men who are men.

   It's unpleasant to see profiles spamming my grid when they're not real men or they're men into trans. It's got to go. They need their own app for their stuff.

   It's hurting the community of real men who pay to use this service.

8. Sex Tracker?

   Can you add a feature that lets you track whom you sleep with? Like let you flag it on their profile and compile a list of whom and when for you. This would make it easy to contact them if you catch something, which makes everyone a whole lot safer.

   There currently the feature to add notes to Favorite profiles, but sometimes I want to add a note to non-favorites. Either as a reminder of something we talked about, their name, or a warning that I didn’t enjoy talking to them.

11. Only fans, spam, filters, glitches

    I subscribe to unlimited yet it’s getting harder and harder to find my type. Only fans and spams wanting me to go to sex websites are constantly in my messages and taps! People who I’m not interested in are tapping and messaging me. And the glitches in messaging and “online people” are ridiculous. Dating apps are suppose to filter what you are into yet Grindr wants to show u everyone. That’s not being inclusive at all! Profiles that say not into MEN! Then why are they on my grid! All you guys care about is money. I’m done subscribing enough is enough.

14. Turn Off Grunt as default!

    Keep grunt off as default. There were several times this went off & I thought my phone was hacked. It was alarming. Keep usual tap sound not grunt. This grunt will definitely cause issues with privacy & anyone trying to be discrete. Not ideal for ppl in the closet.

    Currently, Grindr stupidly insists you have you location settings on the battery draining "high" accuracy setting, which is GPS plus the Google data gathering machine of Wi-Fi. This needs to be changed to allow GPS only. GPS gives high accuracy anyway so there is no need for anything more which offers no improvement except for Google's finances. Having your location data from an app such as this move outside Grindr's or your phone's realm is a terrible risk, particularly in countries where homosexuality is illegal. We also have the right to determine how location is determined, this should not be forced upon us by an app!!!

    RESTORE FAVORITE NOTE SEARCHES - which mysteriously disappeared late day March 3, 2023.

    FIX FAVORITES WITH NOTES FILTER - don’t know if this is a new filter or existing, but IT DOES NOT WORK!

    Why removes fav note searches? If one has dozens of favorites and some of the notes are location based, what good are notes if you cannot identify the 20 that are in DC or Atlanta or Naples?

    And to have a filter that is at least supposed to weed out favorite profiles with notes from the rest, but doesn’t work at all is just adding insult to injury.

    C’mon. Don’t you test this stuff before you implement it into production? Or since it so abruptly went away, maybe something in code is broken. Here’s a second notice it isn’t working. Please address it!

19. Greedy Grindr

    Grindr keeps implementing unwanted functionality and limiting normal functionality, while stuffing the app with ads. You can really see the company is owned by investment agencies who want nothing else but to see as much return on investment, as soon as possible.

    The amount of people one can see is becoming less and less and the filters that can be used keep getting limited. Meanwhile, Grindr is implementing features that literally nobody asked for, such as albums, stupid GIFs and dumb gaymoji I’ve never seen anyone use if not accidentally.

    The prices you are asking for your premium subscriptions, Xtra and Unlimited, are completely excessive (€20 or €40 a month, literally where do you get the nerve). It makes it a product for only the rich, while making it inaccessible for the less wealthy LGBTs among us. Meanwhile, your largest competitor in Europe, ROMEO, is able to make profits with a premium subscription of only €7,50 a month, while offering its free users more features, ad-free, than you do to your Unlimited subscribers, and still donate parts of their profits to a non-profit LGBT-rights supporting foundation.

    Here’s an idea: give free users access to basic filters such as length and relationship status and give them the possibility to see reasonable amounts of people rather than limiting their view distance more and more. Other features, such as albums, gaymoji, GIFs and reading receipts you can make Xtra or Unlimited only.

    Change your policies now, because as long as Grindr keeps being a greedy company that only exists to milk the LGBT community off their money, I will never, I repeat NEVER pay for Grindr, and I will make sure it won’t make profits out of me by using a firewall ad blocker on my phone such as AdGuard, 1Blocker or Lockdown Firewall. Thanks for understanding.

20. Let me swipe backwards from the left side of my screen again instead of tapping the X. Please!

    Add phone based gestures back into the app for ease of use, also get rid of the yellow banner that slides down after you send a message from the profile screen. Gets in the way
