Bring Back Block Feature—A Critical Safety Tool
Grindr's recent removal of the 'block' feature in favor of 'hide' poses a significant safety risk for users who rely on clear boundaries. While 'hide' allows users to remain visible to potentially harmful individuals, the 'block' feature provided a much-needed, stronger barrier against harassment and stalking. For many users, the ability to completely sever contact with dangerous individuals is not just a convenience—it's a vital safety measure. Reintroducing 'block' would give users full control over their interactions and enhance their sense of security while using the app. Prioritizing safety by bringing back the 'block' feature will demonstrate Grindr's commitment to…

Bring back the old blocking button. The Hide function is ridiculous. It doesn't even work, the profile stays on the grid, taps + messages.
The old block button was much safer and user friendly then the new hide option. The hide button doesn't even work. If you hide a profile they stay on your grid, there taps and messages are still there, if they were in your favourites list they stay in your favourites list. So it's a completely redundant option as it doesn't actually hide anything.
Removing the option to block people, makes Grindr unsafe. If it's not returned I'll be deleting and never using this app again. We should have the option to block people for our own safety on a social…

Enhancing User Safety: A Proposal for Trust Features on Grindr
En Français plus bas.
Context: Recently, there have been several serious incidents reported in Belgium and France where people have used the Grindr app to lure victims into homophobic traps, leading to tragic outcomes, including scams, theft, severe violence, and even, in some cases, death. While it’s impossible to completely eliminate risks, it is crucial to enhance the safety of all users.
Proposal: It is urgent to implement features that allow users to assess the reliability of the profiles they interact with, to better protect themselves. This could include a trust score, based on various criteria such as account age,…

Blocked Chat Retention
Recently was assaulted by someone met of Grindr. After the incident I was blocked by the assailant and I no longer had the chats as evidence. If someone blocks you it shouldn't delete the chat stream. Delete media and pics maybe, but leave the chats.

Please get rid of the AI
I understand the desire for AI functionality. I’m not even telling you to delete it altogether. However, the feature feeds off my private information that I would like to be kept in between me and users I message. Yet it’s going to use my data to sell whatever back to me. I don’t want it and I opted out clearly. However every single time I open the app it gives me the choice to accept or decline. Probably 30 times by now. I’m tired of having to decline every time when I know if I accept, it’ll never pop up…

Block is no longer available
The block option is no longer available and was replaced by the hide option. Blocking a user is an essential safety tool in Grindr that can protect us from violence and harassment. Disabling it put in risk the safety and privacy of Grindr users.

block "For you" chats
I do not want Grindr to recommend chats, and I'm certainly not going to pay for the feature. In fact I would block most of the profiles that are listed (first two in list were crossdressers). If Grindr can keep all of its AI profiles in this area and off my grid then it's useful. Otherwise it's waste of space that I don't want to see.

Verify account to reduce Ghosting and fake profiles
It appears Hosting and fake profile to solicit pictures and to raise user emotions before ghosting them is becoming more common than not.
Not only does this impact the mental health of users who are being ghosted, but it seriously impacts the user and makes them question their existence without our community.
Fake users are getting off on getting attention but never following through, nor ever going to meet, but lead the user on before blocking them 2 mins before meeting. There needs to be some facility within the app to verify the user, or a 'commit to meet' option…

Turn Off Grunt as default!
Keep grunt off as default. There were several times this went off & I thought my phone was hacked. It was alarming. Keep usual tap sound not grunt. This grunt will definitely cause issues with privacy & anyone trying to be discrete. Not ideal for ppl in the closet.

Suggestion Regarding Sex Work Policies in Countries Where It Is Legal
I understand and support Grindr’s efforts to ensure a safe, respectful, and legal environment for all users. However, I would like to raise awareness about the fact that in several countries, such as Germany, New Zealand, the Netherlands, and Uruguay, sex work is a legal and regulated activity. In these contexts, it forms part of the lawful personal and professional autonomy of individuals.
For example:
In Germany, sex work is legal and regulated under the Prostitution Act (ProstG, 2002).
In New Zealand, the Prostitution Reform Act 2003 decriminalized sex work, ensuring labor rights for sex workers.
In the Netherlands, sex…

Roll back roam
Are you fucking retarded? Your platform is already flooded with scammers and roam will just help facilitate that problem. Your management has already driven this platform into the ground, now you cater to scammers over real users. Typical corporate idiocy. Sorry your investors want a bigger pay day. Maybe if you provided a service that helped users rather than putting everything behind 15 layers of subscription you wouldn’t be circling the drain

Allow us to block people without having to receive a message first
Literally forcing us to receive a message first before we can block someone is the worst idea they’ve ever had!!!

Identifying scammers
Hey guys. Not sure if you guys have been told about this or not. This was an idea the members came up with and it’s been passed along from member to member. There’s been such a huge onslaught of scammers on the site as you undoubtedly know. It’s almost impossible to maneuver around it. So what people have been asked to do if they’re suspicious is to ask the guy to do a selfie and instruct them to for example hold one finger up. That way you can see if the actual person matches the picture. The first time it…

Camouflage Features for Safety & Privacy
Give us the option to change app name from “Grindr” to something else like Calculator or Browser (to safeguard users in anti-LGBTQ environments). And also if possible an option to change the app’s default yellow and black theme which almost everyone can recognize from a distance. This will increase safety and privacy for users
