Make the app actually work
Since the last update the app is worse than before. Extremely unresponsive. Messages being sent but not shown at all. Receiving 3 notifications for the same tap and no notifications for messages, or notifications after 3 minutes the message was sent. Taps appearing after 10 minutes. The current update on iphone has made it even less responsive than before with huge delays even when sending a simple message.

Bots
I am sick and tired of bots. As a paid user, I get inundated with “taps” and messages from bots, “ 600-2000km away,” that says wanna see real sex join xxxx website dot com. ENOUGH Grindr. I am using this app less and less because it is annoying. Also taps from fake profiles, one photo of a onlyfans model, links leading to their fake IG and X and the only thing in their IG and X are forwarding links to onlyfans and just for fans. Spam is out of control
I'm getting about five or six spam taps and/or messages every day. The developers need to do a much better job of restricting these profiles. For example: if a new profile send a bunch of taps in a very short time; if a profile jumps location too quickly (i.e. location spoofing); if they have "visit my socials" in their bio, or is just a straight up "go to my website" message, etc.
There is plenty that grindr COULD be doing to stop this.

Too many women
Since when did Grindr become an app for straight men and women?? The whole point was that it was for gay men looking for other gay men. A large number of the “women” actually appear to be scams trying to steal your money or data, but that’s not the point. Get rid of all the women on the app for gay men. The unlimited subscription is way too expensive.
Paying almost half of $100 every month for a mobile app has become too expensive. With respect, the monthly fee is similar to what most other paid apps charge annually for a subscription. The cost of a Grindr subscription for a year is $519.48, which is exorbitant. The cost of Xtra is still high, but comparatively reasonable. Remove bots for paying users
As a paying user I feel like I should be able to have the luxury of not dealing with bots or ads. I get all kinds of messages from OF creators and WOMEN! I’m a gay man on a gay app I should not be getting women on here! But most of all with how much you charge for the app there should be some kind of way to prevent ads and bots!

Stop unwanted spam messages from transgender and only fans members
I would like to have a feature that can stop all messages from people over a specific distance from my current location. This would certainly help to limit the spam from transgender and only fans members that only message me for the purposes of subscribing to their page or advertise their services and content. Only fans, spam, filters, glitches
I subscribe to unlimited yet it’s getting harder and harder to find my type. Only fans and spams wanting me to go to sex websites are constantly in my messages and taps! People who I’m not interested in are tapping and messaging me. And the glitches in messaging and “online people” are ridiculous. Dating apps are suppose to filter what you are into yet Grindr wants to show u everyone. That’s not being inclusive at all! Profiles that say not into MEN! Then why are they on my grid! Dump the foreign bots
It is increasingly useless to even use the app because each time I login within seconds I get 5+ bots or foreign accounts claiming close proximity.
I understand that it would be incredibly difficult to try and keep them in check but I offer up two simple solutions. Since VPNs make it hard to accurately track a user location I would first see if their ip address location changes drastically from time to time then make them first pass a ‘r u human’ test the next time they want to send a message.
