   I would like to filter out TransWoman. I don’t have anything against them, but it takes up space by someone I absolutely have no interests in and they just fill up space. I’m paying for something I am not interested in. It is all over the app. I block them and they keep popping up.

3. Add a vibrate-only option for app notifications when sound is ON

   It would be great to have the option to set in-app notifications to vibrate only! Currently, if the phone’s sound is on, notifications also play a sound, with no way to keep them on vibrate only. The sound is very recognizable, so adding this option would be great for more flexibility and discretion. This feature is available on apps like Tinder, and it would be a valuable addition here as well.

5. Marijuana is either medically or recreationally legal in most of the us

   Why keep censoring words like weed marijuana or 420 since weed is now medically and or recreationally legal now in the USA come on Grindr it’s 2025 time to reexamine some the community guidelines

6. Include all preferences

   I have found your app great, but I (and others) also like women. All of the other apps are ridiculous when it comes to profiles. Most of them are fake!
   My idea is to have another area within the current structure for people to find women also. I realize that you do not prevent women from using your app, but Noone really knows that they can use it. I would appreciate a response from you after reading this idea.

7. A “For You” update

   Ever since this update went live, people would (and still do), message me when they are 50+ miles away. If there is a way to allow users to turn off this feature where you are not show here or if it can be fine tuned to only show the person within one’s area, that would be AMAZING. Waking up to check messages only to find out they are not even in your area is quite annoying as long distance doesn’t lead to anything. Especially with the motive of the users on this app.

8. How to get unbanned from Grindr

   Step 1: Back Up Your Data (Without Restoring It Later)

   Use iCloud: Go to Settings > Your Name > iCloud > iCloud Backup, then back up your phone.
   Save WhatsApp Chats: Open WhatsApp > Settings > Chats > Chat Backup and back up to iCloud.
   Manual Backup Option: Transfer photos/videos to your PC, and save important files to Google Drive.
   Important: Do not restore this backup after the reset—it’s only for safekeeping.
   Step 2: Factory Reset Your iPhone

   Go to Settings > General > Erase All Content and Settings to reset your phone.
   Step 3: Set Up a New iCloud Account

   After the reset, set up your iPhone as a new device.
   Create a new Apple ID with a different email and phone number (avoid using the banned number).
   Step 4: Install and Sign Up on Grindr

   Download Grindr from the App Store.
   Create a new Gmail account (on YouTube, when logged out, you can create one without a phone number).
   Use this new Gmail to sign up on Grindr.
   For phone verification, use a new number one from DatingZest Grindr phone service).
   Step 5: Restore Your Data (Carefully!)

   After Grindr is working, log back into your old iCloud to sync apps and files—but do not restore a full backup.
   Download WhatsApp and restore only the chat backup from iCloud.
   Now, you’re back on Grindr without the ban! 🚀

   Step 1: Back Up Your Data (Without Restoring It Later)

    I know there is an unlimited membership, and a Xtra membership, but it would be nice to be able to purchase credits to unlock features. For example:

    Buy 100 credits for 10 bucks

    Viewed me profile unlock: 5 credits
    View more profiles for 10 minutes: 5 credits
    Boost for 50 credits
    Go incognito - 10 credits etc.
    No ads for a specific time period - 25 credits

    The more credits you buy at one time the more they can be discounted.

    Periodically have sales on purchasing credits. For those already subscribed to xtra, have the prices reduced for credits or reduce the anount of credits needed to unlock certain features.

    I think this would give people the option to pick or choose what kind of features they are looking for out of the app, and give them control over their own experience.

11. Accurate hiv status, account created date

    People enter their account profile details when they create the account but seldom update it making HIV status out of state.

    By showing when the account was created we can see if they updated anything like HIV status.

    It's a red flag someone says they are negative but tested more than three months ago or years ago. The HIV status field is pointless.

    People say they are in Oreo but never tested recently is a red flag also

12. Flagging Frequent "Ghosters"

    TL;DR: Allow users to flag when someone they're talking to has ghosted them; potentially showing it on their profile if the user is consistently flagged. Maybe this is a premium feature.

    Allow users to flag when a user with whom they've established a dialogue (setting an objective threshold to be exceeded e.g. an exchange of two or more messages from each user on at least two separate days*) has abruptly ceased contact with them (i.e. ghosting).

    Consider showing which users are consistently flagged as a premium upgrade or subjecting consistently flagged users to a cooldown on sending new messages if it is a recurring problem (as ghosting cannot possibly be good for someone's mental health; I'm sure there's data on this**, but it is harmful, wreckless, and potentially dangerous behavior). A distinction must be made between users who ghost each other and conversations that just fizzle out. Consider only escalating to the premium flagging or cooldown option if a threshold is exceeded. This might be a percentage of their active dialogues (but you'd have to define "active".

    You would also need to account for the passage of time. Anyone on the platform long enough is probably going to ghost X amount of people, so maybe this only applies to flags issued within a given period of time.

    Maybe more specifically two separate 24-hour periods or something to account for communications taking place immediately before and after midnight.
    *If there isn't data on this, then there absolutely needs to be.

13. why doesn't the app recognize bodies of water ???

    there is a lake !! why doesn't the app recognize this fact ?? it says someone is 6 miles away , but they are ACTUALLY 24 miles away because of the giant body of water i live on that you have to drive around ????!!!! it would BE 5 miles IF i had a boat ....but i don't
