Reformat Ad Display/UI
We understand that Ads on the app aren't going anywhere for free users. We ask that you make the ad experience less dreadful and honestly less invasive. The ads shown on grindr typically make you wait 10-60 seconds (sometimes longer) before you can interact with the app again. Not only does this waste user time and increase frustration, but it essentially locks you out of your phone. Ads begin playing loud sounds unprompted, even in silent modes. The ads can't be closed without pixel perfect accuracy and many times open a new window in a browser without user permission.

Complain regarding recent changes to Grindr Xtra
Dear Grindr Support Team,
I am writing to express my profound disappointment and extreme frustration with the recent changes implemented in the Grindr app, particularly affecting long-term Xtra subscribers like myself. I have maintained an active Xtra subscription for several years, during which time I have been highly satisfied with the service and the enhanced features it provided. However, these latest updates have significantly diminished the value of my subscription, making it feel almost indistinguishable from a free account.
Specifically, I have noticed the following detrimental changes:
1. Age Filter Limitations: Previously, users could select specific age ranges with precision.…3 votes -
Suggestion for Stronger Spam Bot Controls
I’d like to formally report and raise a concern regarding the increasing frequency of spam/bot accounts I’ve been encountering. Over the past several days, I’ve noticed a significant uptick in clearly fake accounts that are disruptive to the platform experience. Here are the specific patterns I’ve observed:
1. Tapping Behavior
• Today alone, I’ve received 27 taps from accounts of this type.
• Over the last few days, I’ve reported each one as spam, but the issue persists.
• These accounts repeatedly tap multiple times in short intervals, creating unnecessary notifications and noise.
2. Account Profile Patterns
• Nearly all…4 votes -

Prevent abuse: blocking users after asking for photos
I suggest adding a safety feature:
If someone asks for photos and then immediately blocks or hides the other user, the blocked person should be able to find that profile again or have a way to report it.
Additionally, if a user blocks someone after requesting photos, access to those shared photos should be revoked or restricted to prevent misuse.
This would help prevent photo scams, harassment, and malicious behavior, and better protect user privacy.

Does Gower Distance require transformation of correlated variables?
Hello, I have a question about Gower Distance.
I read a paper that states that Gower Distance assumes complete independence of the variables, and requires transforming continuous data into uncorrelated PCs prior to calculating Gower Distance.
I have not been able to find any confirmation of this claim, is this true, are correlated variables an issue with Gower Distance? And if so, would it be best to transform all continuous variables into PCs, or only those continuous variables that are highly correlated with one another grow a garden? The dataset I am using is all continuous variables, and transforming…

Stop showing people 60 miles away ahead of people 1 mile away
Why is the grid out of order? The whole point of it is to show people close to you. Now it seems like every few profiles is a far away profile sandwiched between two people 1 mile away.

As user goes offline the green light should be off immediately and as user comes online it should turn on immediately. After user goes offline the green light gets off very late. It creats a confusion that the user is online but not responding.

A change to the application due to security and privacy issues
The world knows the sound a grinder makes; everyone knows that. Although there might be a minority who don't.The idea, if possible, is to make the interface a little less obvious to the world when one is outside on the street in a shopping center or etc.The thing is, people know that a black background with blue or yellow text means you're on Grinder. There should be a way to camouflage the background and make it look like Facebook or WhatsApp.These are the most well-known apps worldwide that offer the freedom to chat outside without being singled out or discriminated…

Please remove the touches
Most people on this app aren't interested in the "touch" feature. I understand that you might like someone who isn't near you. But The reality is that it's annoying, first, when your phone vibrates as if it were a message when it isn't. And second, you can't even see that person.Because you have to be a paying user, and believe me, there aren't many paying users. So I see that feature as obsolete; they created a meeting space for those who are nearby. The unfortunate thing is that those who are there aren't to most people's liking; they're paid services, so…
