1. HIV Status

   I personally think to limit the amount of guys that are getting put at risk by other guys who lie about their status, Grindr should make HIV statuses marked as verified in the same manner that the app’s algorithms check profile pictures to make sure they’re not inappropriate. If they’re negative or on prep the verification mark for their status could require reevaluations every 3-6 months so it accurate enough for users to make safer and smarter decisions with who they’re hooking up with. For those guys that don’t get tested often or choose not to upload their results from a clinic, they should be filtered out or even just have a status that shows not verified. As far as my area goes, there’s two dudes that I know of so far in particular that tell people that they’re clean and disease free while they’re both HIV Positive. They get away with it because their statuses are hidden and it seems that even though it’s illegal, a lot of people who are HIV Positive choose to not disclose this information when they are legally suppose to before they have sex with someone.

2. Blur Photos in Message Window until Clicked

   Obscure photos sent between users by blurring the thumbnail until clicked on. This would prevent every issue users have with unsolicited NSFW images being sent by strangers. It's such a simple solution. One could even include it for those who choose not to accept NSFW photos. It would cut down on reports of users violating Grindr terms and services when they send pornographic images.

   Please take this next logical step to enhance user experience.

5. Haven't Chatted With/Chatted With Filter

   I think the Grindr app should have a filter to only show people you haven't chatted with yet or only people you have already chatted with. Just like there is a blue indicator on the user's profile that says chatted and the minutes and hours in 1 day, there should also be an indicator on that user's profile that just says chatted and it should be in a different color than blue and should stay on that user's profile to let you know you have already chatted with that user, since the blue chatted (minutes/hours ago) indicator will go away, there should be one that stays on the user's profile.

   Refrain from the practice of showing or allowing users to type in their HIV status when they create their profile or when they have created the profile, if you care about the health of the users keep the option of reminding them to get tested after certain intervals, this creates stigma against lgbt men who are infected with the virus, we have encountered people who have written phrases on the 'about me' section like 'NO HIV POSITIVE MEN' this is very stupid because you can have sex with someone and how will you know if they do not have the virus and how sure are you that someone you are sleeping with is telling the truth, therefore this serves no purpose

8. Hunky white guys

   Obviously when I get a tap or a message from a hunky white guy from Ghana I know it's a red flag cuz I doubt there's any hungry white guys in Ghana. Also I am always getting hit up by these guys that are in the "special services"station in Afghanistan and soon as they get released and head back here in a couple weeks they want to hook up with me and live with me and treat me the way I should be etc etc that's b******* my first got on here I fell for one until he asked me to send $25 to the base that is at so he can keep the computer running as if it's a vending machine of some type. 12. Pre warnning before Ban - Effectively ban appeals team & support

    I find myself in an unprecedented predicament and turn to you for assistance. Towards the end of December, due to an oversight, I inadvertently created a new Grindr account without updating the birthdate, leading to its suspension under the suspicion of being underage. Despite my efforts to rectify the situation promptly, I was met with delays and misunderstandings from Grindr support.

    After enduring a lengthy wait, I finally received a response on February 8th, 2024, only to discover that my device was banned due to suspicion of being underage. This ban was enacted without prior notification, leaving me bewildered and without access to the app. Subsequent attempts to seek clarification and assistance were met with further confusion, exacerbating an already distressing situation.

    On February 12th, 2024, the ban was removed after identity clarification as an adult. However, to my dismay, a different support agent re-banned my device by responding to an old ticket of mine.

    Despite providing sincere apologies and demonstrating a genuine desire for resolution, my main account remains banned. This ordeal has been deeply distressing, especially considering my long-standing commitment to Grindr since coming of age.
    As a user for 12 years, most of the time with an active xTra subscription, I have never received a warning or ban before.

    Amidst personal challenges and the lack of empathy from Grindr support, I find myself at a loss. Losing access to Grindr, a vital support network for many in the LGBTQ+ community, has left me feeling isolated and vulnerable.

    I implore Grindr to intervene swiftly and reconsider the duration of my ban. I asked for clarity on how long this banishment will last and appeal for empathy and understanding in resolving this matter but got no response.

    1) Even I hasn't opened app today, I get liked message (so it's clear my profile was found by robot).
    2) If I open the profile, there is Instagram link.

14. AGE DISCRIMINATION

    This app continues to champion the cause of equality - unless you are a “Nasty old” person 🤮- this kind of commentary should be stopped. Would you allow someone to say the same comments about race, gender, ethnicity? No. If someone has a hard and fast rule about age they can post that without the need to insult others. I have personally been told I should kill myself because of my age. MULTIPLE TIMES. Hate speach should have no place here but there’s a blind eye turned.

16. Report people who stand you up

    Ive had it twice now when a guy agrees to meet up at a designated time and place but they don't show up. This is a massive waste of time for the other person. If they can't pitch up then they should send a message. Failure to do so should equate to a report and the user profile disabled after a number eg 3 offenses. For moderation use, a copy of the messages can be sent with a report for confirmation.

20. Drugs revolving around emojis/phrases

    Lets start off with how people are getting away with it, some usually use the phrase “anyone want to parTy?” the T stands for meth of course, and the usage for hard-core drugs surrounding emojis such as- 🧊❄️🍦🥶 it is very uncomfortable for these things to be floating around and I would love to see some change.
