Bot detection feels more like a data-quality problem
Most of my daily taps come from accounts with identical bios, the same OF link, and a stock photo that gets reused across dozens of profiles. Reporting them helps a little, but the same templates pop up again within hours. I work on data migration projects in my day job, and was reading through an ETL migration company site the other day — it described how much gets cleaned and filtered during a move before bad records land in the new system. Auto block any profile who's title is "YOU NEED FUNDS" Would be easy to implement and would reduce about 75% of the spam taps received.
Just automatically block the sentence "YOU NEED FUNDS" in a similar way that references to 420 and other drug references are automatically moderated. This would reduce fake users linking to external sites where I'm pretty sure they are NOT giving free money away or wanting to take care of your debts. Similarly any profile that promises to pay someone $1000 a month is clearly a scam and it should be easy to filter a few keywords and flag those profiles for review before they get a chance to spam other users. Give users the ability to restrict messages from "Joined Recently" accounts.
If users could use the setting "Do not allow messages from Joined Recently accounts unless I message first," that would reduce incoming spam messages for most users by probably 90% or more. It's an easy fix.

SPAM. So much spam
Add a non-removable feature on each profile that shows the date created or how long a profile has existed. This would tremendously help identify spam/duplicate accounts created with stolen photos. This has proven extremely effective on Facebook for weeding out spam buyer messages on Marketplace listings 🤷🏻♂️
Maybe add some level of authentication or human interaction like a captcha to be able to create or reply to a new message.

Let us delete taps. Most come from scammers that you fail to deal with. We can delete messages, why not taps?

account banning
why can't we get a Grindr helpdesk for banning appeals? When you pay this kind of money for a product, you should be able to talk to someone when you are unjustly banned! Grinder can see ALL INTERACTIONS between users and thus should be able to reinstate accounts immediately. Take action against these people that get you banned because of no reasoning and lets move on to enjoy the app.

Being Off-line/Incognito should be a human right within GR community
I think Having the option to be offline should be an option at least from the basic paid plan. This unavailable tool of for basic PAID AND UNPAID plans might generate frustration, anxiety and depression to people. It doesn’t also feels also good to leave people « viewed » as humans don’t have the availability to respond that many messages coherently at once

Fake trans women profiles are scams that use stolen/AI photos to catfish users. They waste time, trick people into meetings, and create real safety risks on a location-based app. And Cis straight women don’t belong on Grindr. The app was made for gay/bi/queer men. They clutter the grid and frustrate the main user base.

Bring Back the Favorites Tab for Easier Navigation
I would like to suggest bringing back the Favorites tab because it made the app much easier to use and improved navigation in a practical and noticeable way. This feature gave users a simple way to save profiles they were interested in and return to them later without needing to search again. It made the experience feel more organized, more efficient, and less frustrating.

Filter out OnlyFans and Sugar Daddy bios
So many bios are clearly indicative of bot accounts, containing essentially the same text. It seems like it would be so easy to vet these accounts. Many of them use the same pictures and create multiple similar profiles. Paying for this product is obnoxious when most of the taps I receive are from scam accounts.

Recurring drain clogs – is it worth doing "preventive" cleaning?
I’ve had to call out a plumber twice in the last year because of backup issues in my main sewer line. Each time they just snake it, tell me it’s "probably tree roots or grease," and leave. I’m tired of the stress of wondering when the next overflow will happen.
