1. Pictures are approved for only whites

   It seems that the moderation team is very prejudice against people of color. I upload pictures and they get rejected. I see white people with their holes and dicks showing on the app. I wonder how that got approved but my picture with just my cheeks showing gets rejected. You all removed racial preferences from the app, which was dumb. But you still run an explicit racist app. You all don’t promote body positivity you promote it only for whites only.

6. I am begging of you, please get rid of this homophobic ad…

   I’ve been seeing this ad pop up on my feed A LOT recently. Neither of the people in this photo even have visible monkey pox… this just perpetuates the stigma that monkey pox is a ‘gay disease’, and if we really want to warn people about monkey pox we should show them what it actually looks like… I’ve been really disappointed to see this kind of homophobic propaganda on grindr, which I consider to be a safe space for me as a queer person. It’s important for people to know that anybody can get this disease, and it’s important for all of us to take precautions, especially when coming into contact with used linens or worn clothes, which are known to transmit the infection. This ad is the furthest thing from informative and I would really like to see it taken down.

   It’s essential to have greater control over escort profiles on the platform. The increasing number of escorts are concerning and it’s not just about user experience, it’s about safety and not ignoring a big social issue. Tightening up control over keywords and certain emojis could help, but something must be done because that’s not what the app is about. Additionally, this issue must be addressed regionally, as some places face more severe challenges over this regard.

10. fake profiles sending messages; and probably harming real API guys in the process

    Four of the last 20 messages I've received (20%) are from profiles that clearly belong to people who are running scams. The pattern is consistent. Usually the person is much farther away than other profiles (i.e., 4 miles, compared to 1-2), most commonly the profile photo is of someone of Asian descent, and the opening line is always something like "what are you looking for on here?" (which would be clear if they read my profile). No matter what you respond with, you get a message back that says something like "I'm looking for friends and a deep relationship with someone I can talk to. By the way, what do you do for work?" They are clearly fake profiles created by people trying to run scams. In addition to being a hassle for users on your site, it's also contributing to anti-Asian sentiments (which are already a problem on Grindr and other sites). I'm sure people are even more inclined now to ignore messages from guys with Asian profile photos because so many messages we receive from people with those photos are now fake. It would be great if this could get addressed somehow.

14. After blocking, the chat window should be maintained

    When someone behaves abusively in a conversation and then blocks the victim, the chat and profile disappear and there is no way to report it. In this context, the structure of the Grindr application itself favors abusive behavior by not maintaining the chat window after blocking. I would like to suggest that even after blocking, the chat window should be maintained for both parties as a way for the victim to eventually report that they had a toxic conversation and then blocked it to escape.

15. Make Grindr T&C enforced on users fairly and transparently

    I would like to describe the situation that I was in and still am. I’ve dealt with impersonation, harassment, blackmail on the app and outside of it due to one person. He uses the paid grindr services. The reason why I know cuz he told me in the past and he has unlocked multiple albums and sent disappearing photos. I’ve reported him with overwhelming evidence of him calling me in derogatory terms, racist slurs due to my ethnicity on the app itself. I’ve provided screenshots of our conversation from telegram. The only answer I’ve received is “thanks for reaching out. We will look into it” and immediately getting banned for reporting a person. The idea of people with malicious intent having a get out of jail free card on a huge platform like Grindr is terrifying. The only thing you need for that is a Grindr subscription apparently.

    So, if I don't like someone they can repport me for harrasment? Considering I did not approach them. AND I get a warning? Who moderates this? How can I contest it??
