Pre warnning before Ban - Effectively ban appeals team & support
I find myself in an unprecedented predicament and turn to you for assistance. Towards the end of December, due to an oversight, I inadvertently created a new Grindr account without updating the birthdate, leading to its suspension under the suspicion of being underage. Despite my efforts to rectify the situation promptly, I was met with delays and misunderstandings from Grindr support.
After enduring a lengthy wait, I finally received a response on February 8th, 2024, only to discover that my device was banned due to suspicion of being underage. This ban was enacted without prior notification, leaving me bewildered and without access to the app. Subsequent attempts to seek clarification and assistance were met with further confusion, exacerbating an already distressing situation.
On February 12th, 2024, the ban was removed after identity clarification as an adult. However, to my dismay, a different support agent re-banned my device by responding to an old ticket of mine.
Despite providing sincere apologies and demonstrating a genuine desire for resolution, my main account remains banned. This ordeal has been deeply distressing, especially considering my long-standing commitment to Grindr since coming of age.
As a user for 12 years, most of the time with an active xTra subscription, I have never received a warning or ban before.
Amidst personal challenges and the lack of empathy from Grindr support, I find myself at a loss. Losing access to Grindr, a vital support network for many in the LGBTQ+ community, has left me feeling isolated and vulnerable.
I implore Grindr to intervene swiftly and reconsider the duration of my ban. I asked for clarity on how long this banishment will last and appeal for empathy and understanding in resolving this matter but got no response.
