4. Add a filter "looking for age group"

   I am a 48 year old looking for young 18+ guys. I want a filter that would show me young guys looking for my approx age. So in profile description if you add "looking for age group" 18-25, 26-30, 31-35 so on and so forth. It would be easier to find my type of guys rather than randomly asking all the young guys "interested in uncles?"

6. Race/Ethnicity filter is Convenient not Hateful.

   There should be a race filter /ethnicity filter. It may lead to many profiles being missed out on just because ppl may not fill up this information in their profiles settings. That may be a downside. Mixed ethnicity profiles and no race / ethnicity profiles shud by default appear in all race searches.
   This is not hateful or racist.this is just convenient. One may want to have a black season followed by a white season and vice versa. This is not hateful. A real racist would anyways not want to seek another race they are biased against. and in a way thats also a good thing cuz eg why would i want to be available on the grindrr grid to a bunch of hateful racists who may end up hurting me . The filter does not promote hate or resolve hate

7. Got Banned - probably hacked - no help

   I had a flurry of messages this morning, when I opened Grindr to check, I had a notice saying that I’d been banned and that this was a human decision, not an AI one. I’m not sure what has happened as it’s been several weeks since I was online. It seems either my account was hacked or the app itself has been hacked. Clicking a link asked me to sign into my account on web browser.

   As if this was not disturbing enough, there doesn’t appear to be a way to report this. I’d rather like this to be resolved and probably to shut my account if this the level of digital accountability that Grindr has.

8. Spammers

   Block Spam by introducing spam control measures! Spam bots don't register a in the viewed you tab. Silently introduce an anti spam feature where you cannot tap, message or do anything until you've spent atleast 5 seconds viewing their profile, or enough time that you would have atleast registered as 'viewed me' in the event they are 'incognito'. Additionally, introduce a feature where you can't tap or message a new profile within 60 seconds of tapping or within 3 minutes of messaging someone.

9. Auto block any profile who's title is "YOU NEED FUNDS" Would be easy to implement and would reduce about 75% of the spam taps received.

   Just automatically block the sentence "YOU NEED FUNDS" in a similar way that references to 420 and other drug references are automatically moderated. This would reduce fake users linking to external sites where I'm pretty sure they are NOT giving free money away or wanting to take care of your debts. Similarly any profile that promises to pay someone $1000 a month is clearly a scam and it should be easy to filter a few keywords and flag those profiles for review before they get a chance to spam other users. At the moment that would reduce about 75% of the spam messages and taps I'm currently receiving.

10. Get rid of fake AI generated profiles

    I've enjoyed Grindr for many years but in the last month or so it is becoming increasingly unusable for a gay man looking to meet other men.
    The app is getting overrun with fake profiles, using AI generated photos purporting to be Transwomen. I've also seen some profiles purporting to be Cis women. The latter raises a serious question about what Grindr is - inclusivity is one thing, opening it up to all comers is quite another. Inclusivity taken to it ultimate conclusion just results in invisibility of those who Grindr started out trying to serve.
    My other question for you is about Grindr's monetisation strategy. I have noticed adverse changes to the offering for non-subscribers. First it was removal of the ability to block profiles on the grid; this became "hide" and meant that the number of profiles visible decreased. Then there was the change to age filtering. Initially age could be filtered in yearly increments, then it was 3-yearly increments and now it is 5. And with this latest change, filtering for age reduces the number of profiles in the grid.
    Now putting together my two questions - is Grindr deliberately tolerating the fake profiles so that they crowd out the grid available to non-subscribers and deliberately prevent users from blocking such profiles to stop them circumventing this monetisation strategy?
    Are my suspicions well founded or am I being a conspiracy theorist?

    I truly despised the Madonna "takeover." I pay $300 a year for Grindr Unlimited features and do not use the app to have a music advertisement crammed down my throat. I found the promotion intrusive, invasive and obnoxious. It ate up screen real estate, and the hot pink app launch icon was a monstrosity. (I temporarily used a "discreet" icon, which I disliked, but felt it was the lesser of evils forced on me.)

    I am a member of the LGBTQ community and I find it ironic that after decades of fighting against gay stereotypes, I am stereotyped as the gay cliche haunting the dance clubs and looking for yet another Madonna album to add to my collection. I respect Madonna's unfailing support of the LGBTQ community, but selling her product has no place as a paid premium feature on a dating app. Grindr Presents is way off target.

    You need to get back to the business of improving the app, not selling records.

13. Grindr is going to die

    Capitalism is destroying us. The Xtra subscription is abusive and offers few benefits for an app like a social network. Even Right Now is limiting us; soon it will be impossible to navigate Grindr.

14. Tone down the ads

    The ads are outrageous. I dislike mid typing for an Ad to pop up when trying to message someone back. The app has gotten worse over the last few years. Tone down the ads at least not pop up during your mid typing message.

15. Bring back the block function.

    Hiding the profiles does not work and often the profile pops back up. I don’t see why hiding is better than blocking when both are reversible.

    We need a gender filter. While I support trans men and women, I'm not interested in sexualinteractions with them and frankly I'm seeing way too many trans women profiles with the same pic. 17. Make the app actually work

    Since the last update the app is worse than before. Extremely unresponsive. Messages being sent but not shown at all. Receiving 3 notifications for the same tap and no notifications for messages, or notifications after 3 minutes the message was sent. Taps appearing after 10 minutes. The current update on iphone has made it even less responsive than before with huge delays even when sending a simple message.
