1. Language

   My native language is Japanese. The language of grindr is set according to the setting of the phone, but can you change it into that you can change the language on the app?
   I wanna use my phone in Japanese but change only my grinder setting into English. Cuz all the translation of English words to Japanese on Grindr is a bit off (ex. pronouns, positions and stuff).

2. A sex filter

   I joined Grindr many years ago because I like men. The last few years more and more women are joining this app and moderators are not doing anything about it. I don’t want to see woman, I’m not sexually attracted to women, I don’t want to see cross-dressers, I’m not sexually attracted to CDs. I’m all for people liking who they want to like, but I should be able to filter out who I want to see and who I do not want to see, especially if I’m paying for Grindr Xtra. I should not have to use what limited bio space we have to type out what I am and am not looking for.

3. Unblock location based view

   Right now if i want to unblock someone i may have blocked accidentally, i need to scroll through a list that goes in the order i blocked, I'd never find someone as it doesnt show dates and since location based is how the rest of grindr works it makes sense to change to a location based grid so that you could see the people closest and unblock that way.

4. Not being able to report a profile if I can’t communicate with it

   Once I’ve scrolled past the viewable limit. If I see a profile with a title like “drugs and fuck” I can’t report it because clicking on it takes me to the premium update page.
   There should be the ability to click and hold to report button and auto capture the profile pic and title with an additional info box.

5. Add directions with Maps

   When someone sends you their location, there needs to be a button that redirects you to google or Apple Maps so you can get the necessary directions. It’s so annoying having to zoom in and look for the address manually going back and forth between the app and maps.

7. HIV Status

   I personally think to limit the amount of guys that are getting put at risk by other guys who lie about their status, Grindr should make HIV statuses marked as verified in the same manner that the app’s algorithms check profile pictures to make sure they’re not inappropriate. If they’re negative or on prep the verification mark for their status could require reevaluations every 3-6 months so it accurate enough for users to make safer and smarter decisions with who they’re hooking up with. For those guys that don’t get tested often or choose not to upload their results from a clinic, they should be filtered out or even just have a status that shows not verified. As far as my area goes, there’s two dudes that I know of so far in particular that tell people that they’re clean and disease free while they’re both HIV Positive. They get away with it because their statuses are hidden and it seems that even though it’s illegal, a lot of people who are HIV Positive choose to not disclose this information when they are legally suppose to before they have sex with someone.

10. An increase of scammers

    I have recently noticed an increase in scam accounts messaging me. Most of them are for websites advertising adult content that you must sign up for by first giving the platform your credit/debit card information, others are trying to be a little more sophisticated by trying to get users to sing up for external "social media" platforms, such as a website known as "dreamguydatesandfun", found here: dreamguydatesandfun.com (Please do not sign up with real information as you will be scammed). I have done some research into the website and domain names, alongside similar reports such as this one from a news outlet in Ireland (https://www.siliconrepublic.com/enterprise/grindr-messaging-scam-ireland) which so happens to be the exact way they attempted to scam myself. These scams have someone message you and ask you to sign up for their safety in order to gain credit/debit card information before scamming you. 11. Read the bio

    I wish there was a way to make people scroll to the bottom of your profile past your bio before actually contacting you. I know even then it’s a 50/50 if they will actually read it or not, but at least it will be their fault for asking crap I’ve already answered on my bio. I have my social media and all that crap

    Its bad enough to have people I don’t know or never made any commitment to other than saying hello accusing me of “ghosting” them (no profile pic 🙄)

    But what makes the app very annoying is constantly getting asked if I’m really myself, send more pics, I don’t personally care ti stay FaceTime ready 24/7 nor am I looking to hookup 24/7 which my bio makes as clear as I know how.

    I’ve got it connected to my Facebook Instagram Twitter and freaking Spotify. I don’t know what else people want from me seriously but I think that would be a cool option.

    And video or gif profile pics 😎

    And maybe allowing more characters in the bio. That would be helpful if ppl ever read it.

    I have a suspicion that my account has been hacked, but I can't verify it since I didn't use the conventional username and password login method, but instead through my gmail account, and neither can change the password for the same reason.     I have never ever violated Grindr's community guidelines or terms of service. It was a shock when my account was banned two weeks ago.
    On appeal, I was told there was reason to believe I was underage (I am turning 37 next month). So, as requested, I emailed my face picture with my account details and national ID to Grindr.
    The response was to close my account altogether, and "for privacy and safety reasons, we cannot provide any more specifics about why your account was closed" and "this decision is final".
    What is going on, Grindr? How can you treat anybody in such an illogical, arbitrary and damning manner?
    This is extremely unjust and disappointing.
