  1. Do not leave an in-chat notification when an unread message is unsent

    Only messages that were viewed by the recipient deserve an “unsent message” notification if they're retracted by the sender. Messages that were never opened by the recipient, however, should just disappear without a trace. This way, we subscribers can unsend typos and other unseen mistakes without causing any suspicion.

  2. Pause subscription

    For those of us XTRA/Unlimited subscribers who need to take a break from Grindr due to work-related, health-related, or relationship-related reasons, it would be helpful if we could freeze our subscription so we don’t lose the remaining time we’ve paid for. Since we can’t request refunds, at least don’t penalize us when conflicts arise in our personal life that demand us to step away from the app for a bit. You can still keep our money, just give us the option to freeze. This would be especially helpful for those of us on year-long subscriptions.

    Most people never respond for one reason or another, so it’d be nice to easily filter out those chats from our crowded inboxes.

    automatically rotate the app when the phone is turned, so it's capable of displaying in "landscape" mode as well as "portrait"...like every other app under the sun is capable of doing (well, almost anyway).

  5. Notes on Non-favorites

    There currently the feature to add notes to Favorite profiles, but sometimes I want to add a note to non-favorites. Either as a reminder of something we talked about, their name, or a warning that I didn’t enjoy talking to them.

  6. Notifications that are grouped, detailed, and replyable

    Please bundle our new unread messages under one main notification, which can be pulled down (expanded) to view the individual messages grouped under it. Include each sender’s profile picture and display name, and allow us to reply to each sender individually, within the notification.

    (Currently, unpaid users just get a single, generic notification containing a count of their unread messages, while paid users only see their single most recent unread message. Non-grouped, non-detailed, non-replyable notifications like these are extremely outdated, especially for a messaging app.)

    En chat me sale que desconectado pero si activo una red wi-fi a mi celular de una quedo como conectado

    Would be great to be able to transfer backups from Android to iPhone and vice versa. Now I switched to iPhone, I'm going to lose all my old messages :(

  9. Allow us to delete all current message history for both parties in the message, sometimes you just want to restart w/out making new account.

    Delete messages for both sides. Sometimes you just wanna clear all chats and restart, but you pay for subscription so you don’t want to make a new profile. I know we can delete the messages from us, but I wanna know it deletes on their side too. Sometimes you send the wrong message or something, or you need to send a picture to set things up, but you want to be able to delete your picture after. I get that you shouldn’t send if you don’t want it out there, but this is about more than just pictures. I just…

  13. Filters selecting profiles for group chat

    Right now, it's nearly impossible to find specific profiles when adding someone to group chat. Standard filter to select on age, type, tribe... Would make this feature usable. I have many favorites, so I often can't add someone to a group chat.

    Oe better yet, allow one to select based on inbox messages.

  15. Incognito mode options

    1) incognito mode by age range: set an age range you wish to be visible to, but incognito otherwise
    2) Current incognito mode but stay on the grid. Appear offline, but on the grid so guys can see your profile... some guys are too shy to even tap if you’re online... should be an option to stay on the grid in incognito mode
    3) = 1) + 2): allow to set age range for appearing on the grid as ‘offline’

  16. Profile videos

    Basically allow us to upload a video describing ourselves and what we are seeking. I would also say allow us to share videos of our selves but that could get pretty raunchy. So, an option to upload a public video of ourselves describing ourselves and what we are looking for and like would be a nice way to let guys know what we are about.

  18. Stop 'disconnected' when it is clearly not a network issue

    Getting really bored of the 'disconnected' ******** now. 6 months, 3 different phones and multiple wifi connections but that BS ststus message keeps appearing. Therefore it's a grindr issue. Fix it.

  20. Allow users to block profiles using certain phrases that they find offensive.

    Allow users to block profiles that use words or phrases that they find offensive, such as racist, ageist, transphobic, etc. a user can ID an offensive word or phrase and block and profile that uses them. Profiles are unlocked when the words/phrases are deleted.
