2. Trans women/ women/ MF couples

   There needs to be a filter option to block or hide trans women/ women or MF couples.. I’m not transphobic at all. This app has always been a primarily gay men’s app and now seeing 25% women every time I open my app even if I spend most my time blocking the trans members… I personally DO NOT want to see women on my app when I’m paying 40$ a month to use the app.. Every profile tile that displays a women is a space where a gay man could be and I find it offensive that I’m even seeing women. This goes against everything that gay men are and personally is insulting because being gay is not a choice and a women in a gay app makes it sound like we’re back to being told that being gay is a choice rather than being born gay. GAY men made this app as popular as it is today and this app should understand and respect our community by at the very least creating a filter to hide women from our view especially if we’re paying for a membership! THIS IS A GAY APP. I feel like Grindr is exploiting its gay community users to fetish M/F couples and trans users who think that sleeping with gay men is a trend or fetish. GRINDR was popularized by the Gay community and that needs to be respected. Trans- genderism is not a sexual orientation. If they want to be trans they are with women or men and they need their own app or there needs to be a filter for those of us who do not want to see or pay to see women in our gay app

   Vocês precisam tirar esse negócio de quando você envia o álbum privado e logo depois a pessoa te bloqueia o álbum privado continua lá pra ela ver. Sempre mandava o álbum privado, era bloqueado e não entendia porquê. Hoje bloqueei uma pessoa e visitei os álbuns que recebi e o álbum da pessoa que eu havia bloqueado ainda estava lá, só consegui tirar excluindo.

8. Pictures

   The biggest issue that you have right now on the app is the poor moderation of pictures and how it is not equally addressed. If I have a picture that doesn’t show any butt cheek, but is sexually suggestive… It is denied. While there are other users who show full on butt cheek, that is sexually suggestive, and their pictures are approved.

15. Make Grindr look more discreet in public

    As a user who isn't confident to use the app in public, i think having a feature where you can customize the look or appearance of the conversation/chat will be helpful for people like me. When I'm about to meet someone and i need to open the app in public and contact the person i will meet, i get shy and I'm not bold enough to use the app in public. Because most of the people now know the look of the grindr app and its appearance in look. Especially the colors of the conversation which is Black, then Blue (the color that appear for someone who messaged you), then yellow (the color of the bubble of your message). These colors when glanced in public, they'll know it is Grindr app. So, having a Feature where you can customize the app in to your liking will be really helpful not only for aesthetic (which is really not about it) but also for the comfort of the discreet or shy users.     I wanted to start a conversation and propose a change I deeply believe would benefit our community: the removal of the 'Body Type' search option.

    Why consider this change?

    1. Promotion of Stereotypes: The current categories under body types are quite simplistic. They don't truly capture the diverse range of body shapes and sizes within our community and can unintentionally reinforce harmful stereotypes.

    2. Mental Health Implications: Having an option to filter based on body type can indirectly contribute to body shaming practices. Whether it's fat shaming, skinny shaming, or any form of body discrimination, it affects self-esteem and can foster toxic behaviors.

    3. Promote Inclusivity and Body Positivity: As our society embraces inclusivity and body positivity, Grindr should be at the forefront, championing these values. Removing such filters would be a step towards creating an environment where everyone feels accepted and appreciated.

    4. Authentic User Experience: Without the pressure of fitting into a specific 'Body Type' category, users may feel more comfortable being genuine. This paves the way for connections based on shared interests, values, and personalities rather than just physical appearances.

    I understand that features like these were added to help streamline the user experience. However, as times change and we become more aware of the unintentional implications such features can have, it's worth reevaluating and adapting.

    Would love to hear what everyone thinks! If you resonate with this, perhaps we can collectively bring this to the attention of the Grindr development team.

    Please can you use a system similar to Scruff, wherein they utilise the user performing a reconstruction of a photo (𝘁𝗮𝗸𝗲𝗻 𝙪𝙨𝙞𝙣𝙜 𝘁𝗵𝗲 𝗮𝗽𝗽) to 𝘳𝘦𝘦𝘯𝘢𝘤𝘵 a variety of 𝗽𝗼𝘀𝗲𝘀, randomly chosen (please use more than 25 randomly selected photos, to prevent 𝗳𝗮𝗸𝗲𝗿𝘆) to 𝙫𝙚𝙧𝙞𝙛𝙮 𝘁𝗵𝗮𝘁 𝘀𝗼𝗺𝗲𝗼𝗻𝗲 𝙈𝘼𝙏𝘾𝙃𝙀𝙎 𝘁𝗵𝗲𝗶𝗿 𝙥𝙝𝙤𝙩𝙤. 𝘳𝘦𝘨𝘢𝘳𝘥𝘭𝘦𝘴𝘴 of whether they 𝘂𝘀𝗲 𝗮 𝙁𝙖𝙘𝙚 𝙥𝙞𝙘𝙩𝙪𝙧𝙚 or not.
