2. Cis gay nipples are acceptable but trans nipples are not?

   This app is notorious for torso pics. I’ve been on it on and off it since it’s inception. In Jan 2023, Instagram formally edited their bilaws to accept “protest” as a reason to allow all nipples, meaning roughly, that even that family-friendly app allows the nudity of women’s nipples so long as you add the hashtag #freethenipple. I’m a trans woman who transitioned btwn 25 and 31. Years ago I could do a headless pic, no problem, now I’m using iPhone tech to edit out my nipples on photos for this app more than I am Twitter or Insta or Snapchat. To prove it, I posted the photo that I asked to moderate here—I’m in green, nipples showing slightly through a mesh bodysuit—to my Insta, Gigiravine, with the aforementioned hashtag four hours ago. It’s still posted at time of posting this, but that same photograph here is inappropriate? I kinda figured that a company marketed to LGBTQ+ individuals might have a bit of a more of an inclusive attitude than meta.

4. Search parameter clipped at distance

   So it seems recently that depending on how many people fit into your specific sort of parameters within a three mile radius, that's all you get before you have to pay for more. If I use zero search parameters I can get maybe 80-90 people depending how densely populated the area is. If I do, say 'Online Now' at the time I'm searching in the same area, it's 30 to 35. If I do a search for one position, it's 12. I don't mind paying for a little bit more search flexibility, but it seems like before it was capped at a certain number of profiles you can see instead of certain distance. Once again, this smacks of strong arming people into buying subscriptions. Not the way to coax people to enjoy what you're trying to put out there

7. Reverse the latest update (May 2023)

   The latest update done on the 18th of May is ridiculous. Stop making Grindr a social networking looking like Facebook with overloaded profile page. Graphic design of the profile is overloaded, too much unnecessary stuff: I do not need icons (I can read and do not need a symbol of ruler to know that it is physical parameters); categories (stats/expectations etc) are really not necessary - I simple list of items is enough; speach bubble around "about me" is just weird. It all looks very childish and is far away from the purposes of this app.
   So please keep it simple and stop doing "improvements" just to make any improvement regardless of convenience of the users.

8. Do NOT update filter UI. Revert back to how it has been for years!

   The profile filters have always been accessed by swiping from right to left. This brings up a list of filters such as online now, age, position, height, weight, etc. Now these same filters are being implemented in a different location (at the top of the app). The new UI is extremely cluttered and a pain to work with. If it ain't broke don't fix it! Instead of changing the UI, why don't you just FIX and ELIMINATE all the countless bugs this app has instead? That would be something that would be extremely beneficial. I feel like I'm preaching to the choir though. I already know the filter list on the right side is going away very soon. It's only a matter of time.

    Firstly being very sophisticated about go'v location and app installation protection. I have seen reports of Grindr attack in Jamaica, and the app is certainly lethal in places like Iran. Please, we must keep our brothers safe. I hope you will be able to scramble location and device data in a way which you can surreptitiously confirm will ongoingly fool go'v tech. This app is monitored in all countries, and in these less deadly nations, it is essential that Grindr become unrecognized to the OS and in particular Google and Google Play via discreet app icon. Please protect us from hunting and profiling with world-class tech.

13. I cannot do anything that asks me to verify my account with a password because I did not use one to sign up, I signed up with my Apple ID

    Nothing that asks me to verify my account with a password (such as downloading my data, changing email or password, or even deleting my account) works because I did not use a password when I signed up - I used “Sign Up with Apple ID” which neither creates a password nor stores one on my device.

    Much like the option already given to users for HIV status declarations the feature proposed would be a close to being mirrored and easy code for web engineering and design team to reproduce exactly as you have already done for covid-19 descriptors recently given to users as an additional description feature.

    NEW DESCRIPTION FEATURE that would greatly benefit user profiles would be for Genital/sacral/oral herpes simplex viral infections these conditions are also known as a persons HSV-1 and HSV-2 status.

    The CDC statistics provided in 2022 reports that “roughly 18.6 million people living with HSV-2 reside in the United States.”

    With an additional reporting that
    “Around 1 of every 9 people in the United States between the ages of 14 and 49 has HSV-2”

    Having the opportunity for users to declare their status would help to destigmatize embarrassment around communication with partners and benefit the community health as a whole to start the national conversation and encouragement of frequent testing preventative measures for discordant partners to take to greatly mitigate transmission risk. Suppression antivirals and prophylactic medication and cleanliness habits to shower immediately before planned close sexual contact and another shower as soon as possible after close sexual contact. The use of barriers for partners to use could even be used to secure sponsor ship to promote clothing to cover most skin and to provide minimal access openings to allow penetration and exposure of sex organs.
