1. Bring back the favourites tab

   Annoying that the devs have removed this feature yet again.

   The removal of this feature makes it harder to converse with friends and guys you like. You also can’t see your favourites notes.

   This is a simple and easy feature. The new was is not. Change it back.

2. No more Onlyfans

   When I first started using grinder years I go no guy can actually hook up with somebody. Now.
   Every third Profile I talk to is someone Only after.
   Subscribers. So tired of them wasting my. That's the reason I quit paying for the subscription

3. “Hide” is useless. Does nothing useful.

   Removing the option to block someone and only allowing a temporary “Hide” is utterly useless. It accomplishes nothing of actual value to the end user. What value does hiding temporarily actually buy someone? If you don’t want to see or talk to them, block them. The “unblock” option has always been available. ???? I get that Grindr was trying to follow a couple of user asks (couple,) but you alienated the 90% of your users that use block as intended and completely removed the option in many cases to block someone permanently. Makes ZERO sense.

4. Paid “Tap History” is low-quality and guarantees nobody sees taps. Why use them now?

   Tonight I logged in to check my taps after I was out and about only to find they are now all blurred (even the latest one) as if they were as interesting to see as views. While I’d pay to see views, I’d never pay to see taps. They are very low quality and 90% of them are spammed from the same guys I don’t like and you couldn’t force me to like without it being rape. Today, sending taps are effectively sending messages into a void that the recipient will likely never see. It’s almost pointless now.

   I would like to preface this with the fact that I subscribe to XTRA on occasion and unsubscribe when I encounter job instability or a shift in priorities from worrying about men- because sometimes it just does not matter. Historically speaking, I don’t subscribe to dating apps for more than a few months at a time, so aiming for 100% subscription retention rates is unrealistic

   I get this is a persuasion to subscribe to XTRA, correct? Was it an extra feature or something that was free for several years? I would respect the cash grab if it meant putting in work making an extra feature that’s actually good, serves a common need and adds to the value of Grindr. However, “tap history” feels like selling me garbage. A slap in the face. The interactions were already low-quality in the first place. I send them as, “you probably won’t like me but I’m interested if you’re interested”, which feels as mutual and respectable as it gets.

   Making this feature paid only decreases the likelihood I even send taps in the first place, because now THERE IS A 100% CHANCE users do not see taps I send, especially if the most recent tap is blurred and paywalled.

   To the product managers of Grindr, you are basically killing off the “Tap” feature at this point, there is no reason to send them or even look at them because you just can’t.

   TIP: If XTRA (or even Unlimited) came with more specific filters for my type and taste in men, there is a 100% chance I’d subscribe more often just to see more men that I’m more likely to be into. That would be incredibly helpful and I’d pay for such efficiency because it saves years of my life searching. But to kill off taps and put them behind a paywall is such a low for a product value proposition. Out of ideas to sell? Why has nobody thought about showing people on my grid I may have seen in public before I went home? Seriously, I’m not sure if the people trying to sell XTRA are thinking the right way here. I’m willing to give you guys money, but not for crap like “tap history”. Ugh.

5. Profile pics

   U guys seriously have to get on with the program. U allow 1 profile to show ass and dick. The next profile u show that fucked up message some pics are not allowed. It seems 4 of u choose which profiles can upload which pics. If u don't like the profile u bring that shit up. If u like the profile u allow it to show full dick or ass. U'r inconsistency is problematic. Be fair with all. Don't discriminate or show favoritism with crap like profile pics. We all know grindr is a fuck app. So let fuck and enjoy th3 fucking

6. Bring back distance from pin in “Explore”

   Showing your current distance to profiles instead of distance from the Explore pin is dumb. Yeah I know I’m in Explore so I’m expecting the profiles to be far. Why show the distance in profiles unless it’s from the pin? Seriously considering not using this app after all these harmful feature/ui changes. Certainly not worth the money anymore either.

8. Taps and favourites

   If you don’t like taps they’re the most annoying thing in the world, and yet you’ve made them central to the UI and made favourites (by definition already an area of prime interest) harder to use by applying residual filters to it; we’ve already done the hard work on selecting our favourites, we don’t need active filters applied.
   Instead of all this dust rearrangement, how about your Product team spends more time detecting and blocking fake accounts? Actually add value for the customer rather than finding ways to fill a two week Sprint with nonsense.

    The ‘for you’ selection produces people of no similarity or interest. There is no option to block them and neither (if you like them) can you favourite them. So blocking and favouriting need to be added to the ‘for you’ list.

    The only way I can refresh the guys in the app is to turn off precise location for the whole app and then turn it back on. This only works most of the time.

14. Subscription prices are outrageously expensive.

    i would buy another year of unlimited if prices hadnt got so high. Just not enough value to justify spending more than my gym membership. Now Im forced to switch to a cheaper app/platform because the free version is unusable.k

16. Pricing gouging: cost of Unlimited and Xtra have me bamboozled

    I hope this message finds you well. I am writing to express my concerns and disappointment regarding the current pricing structure for Grindr’s Unlimited and Extra subscriptions.

    After taking a one-year hiatus from the app, I recently decided to re-download Grindr. However, upon doing so, I noticed immediately that the app had become increasingly difficult to navigate without purchasing a premium subscription. The overwhelming pop-ups and advertisements not only disrupted the user experience but also caused my phone to crash at one point.

    Despite these challenges, I decided to re-subscribe to your premium plans, but I was absolutely shocked by the current pricing structure. To say that it feels like price gouging would be a severe understatement. While I understand that the cost of services is increasing across industries, the prices you are charging are not justifiable. In fact, they reflect a critical misstep in Grindr’s approach to research and development, alienating both long-time, loyal users like myself as well as everyday folk, most of which having all good intentions. Instead, this pricing targets catfish accounts and spam advertising.

    As a long-standing subscriber to Grindr’s Unlimited and Extra plans since their inception, I am deeply disappointed. Out of principle, I cannot support such unethical pricing practices, which directly contribute to the ongoing cycle of inflation. By continuing to raise your prices to unjustifiable levels, you are perpetuating the very problem of never-ending inflation. At some point, the cycle has to stop, and it starts with companies like yours taking a more responsible approach.

    I strongly urge Grindr to review its pricing structure and offer subscriptions at a more reasonable and fair rate. This would not only demonstrate a commitment to user satisfaction but also rebuild trust with users who feel increasingly alienated due to the sky, high prices and record number of catfish accounts.

    I hope you will take this feedback into serious consideration, as Grindr’s current approach risks alienating a significant portion of its user base.
