    I up-voted it but perhaps a gentler warning of "more people will contact you if you complete your profile and have a photo" would be a better start? Some other apps do that.

    I disagree with making any field mandatory. People would just lie.

    Statistically speaking there are very few trans or cd folk or straight(ish) guys admiring them on grindr. They're not really diluting the pool. Scammers and fakes are a far bigger problem.
    Starting to split out sub-groups would just encourage discrimination and malice against them.
