Boost is BULLSHIT
The new Boost feature is utter bullshit. People pay a few to appear at the top of other people's grids? Okay... so they're paying to take up space on the grid that could be occupied by other people who are closer? That's utter shit.
If you don't pay for xtra or unlimited, you only have a certain number of available people on the grid anyway so having them taken up by people who are 3 miles away is shit. But then if you ARE paying for Grindr, it's also out of order that just because somebody paid a tiny fee to appear at the top of your grindr grid, then your experience is now marred by these people who are MILES away. Grindr, fix this. It's annoying AF.

i have "fond" memories of that era
i think i was still on 56K — if someone called our landline, *that* was the end of THAT session's foray
=====
it *would* be nice if we could, somehow, persuade some of the more "connected" homos to leverage their influence / power, towards the cause of de-platforming grindr — but, i don't know of any such people, who aren't corporate shills themselves, EB
also: unfortunately, i am compelled to dedicate more of my time / resources towards, actually, Barely Surviving (in) this cut•throat world; otherwise, I'd figure out how to code an app,
make some attempts to buff my programme with decent Security Measures,
and trying finding some volunteers who could help me with moderation — with the promise that, once my app gets off the ground, I can begin paying them -

Well the price of Boost is a bit high.

Oh NOYB…
Gay(dot)com! We are showing our age on that one!
I concur doctor, this site is not the end of us cisters.
As for me, this is as social as I have ever gotten and I prefer it stay this way. But damn sure, I’ll support any new M4M initiative that has hope. Been there, done that. -

grindr is not the end-all \ be-all for us
this much is true EB
myself, i don't have much social clout — otherwise i'd snap my fingers and spontaneously make 500,000 people ditch the shitty app on the spot, until grindr gets its shit together (if ever)
this is 2024 — we gay cisters readily can pool our resources together, and put grindr in its place(i'm not so sure this "sniffies" platform i keep hearing about is the solution)
=====
i wonder if my experiences with gay(dot)com, way-back-when, shoulda served as adequate warning of what was to be in store for my Homo Destiny™ years down the line eb. . . . .

Read on and dig deep into the many, many, many historical comments found in here my friend.
Many agree Felix Three,
We all should boycott this sad app as it’s no longer its former self. Let this dumpster fire burn on and convert itself to, as we can see, a trans haven.Us gays have built great many things before and we can build an app better than Grindr ever was!
I say we crowd source this new bitch app right now!Any takers?
I stopped paying this grndr years ago and I ask my brothers to stop supporting this obvious failure immediately! -

This is money laundering, boost for 60 minutes cost $12 on the top of the expansive membership we are paying for is not enough Grindr is acting very vicious right on the face telling the gay community you are getting ripped off and you have no choice but to pay and pay and more pay . We can just stop use Grindr and switch with the other to many options with reasonable membership and at least we know the owners of the other men chats group all of them all normal but this Creepy Grindr

I feel it would be a lot better if it lasted longer. Maybe double the length of time it works and I would feel like I get my money's worth.

i’m just perplexed about this boosted people that proved the theory of those seeking nothing else but attention, there is a number a people that get off the attention of taps or messages by everyone that messages them because they appear next to you. they even hide location so you can’t tell they are boosting so you can hit them up, only to not answer or be too far for you since they obviously don’t host. so again, give these egotistic selfish guys a way to increase that attention and they’re in. worst part of all this that regardless how annoyed we are by these boosters, given a way to increase profits by a company and a way to self loathe to already attention-seeking ones that will pay for that only and the given feature will never go away. once the margins for the profits settle and they won’t have to be so pushy about it. it’s horrible for the ones we are paying for no ads but little did we know, it does not mean no grindr ads.

The Grindr promotions for Boost are way too aggressive. Between the repetitive promotional messages in the inbox and the random pop-ups, they are annoying and should be minimized, especially on an Unlimited subscription which is supposed to be ad-free.

Especially annoying is if you pay for Grindr to remove ads and then get hounded by Grindr advertising their own paid features.

Especially annoying is that the question if want it is asked several times a day, no matter if you cancel or tap “maybe later”

Interesting that so many dislike Boost enough to write in about it. But how many of you have tried it? And I'm not advocating for it. The actual boost experience is a nightmare as well. You cannot turn it off and you can get floods of taps and messages, like a Tsunami that is impossible to respond promptly to half of them. And I am a 50 some thing average Joe, not near model looks. It felt like it was going to make my phone explode. Grindr, please get rid of it. I won't answer a boosted profile anymore because I think it's desperate! But I tried it out just to see what it was about.

Like the creators care what we say anyway, this company has 0 safety policies or even a proper reoorting system so truly in my opinion. This is pointless, too expensive anyway

Agree. I am so pissed at how often it pops up. It is a waste of money anyway. STOP WITH THE BS and let me enjoy what I paid for.
