  1. Stop Aliexpress ads, they are so fucking annoying to close. Click bait

    There are some ads that they are intentionally designed so that even when you try to close them, it still opens the app or the web. This ruins the app experience and reflects very poorly on it.

    I think Grindr should consider adding a Verified Sexual Health Status feature where users have to submit recent testing documentation when creating or updating their account, including HIV, gonorrhea, and chlamydia, with testing dates and relevant sites such as oral/throat or rectal testing. Instead of showing private medical paperwork, Grindr could display a verified checkmark with the date of verification and remind users when their testing is outdated. Someone can be HIV-negative or say they are “clean” while still having another STI, sometimes without symptoms, so having more complete and recent information could help sexually active users make more informed…

    I find the placement of the “right now” button (the little bubble on the lower right corner) is extremely annoying. There were many times I accidentally activated this feature while scrolling.
    Please have an option for anyone, who doesn’t need this feature, to disable that button please.

  6. Show "Offline" When a User Explicitly Logs Out

    Currently, Grindr continues to display a "Last Seen" timestamp even after a user has intentionally logged out of the application.

    This can be misleading. When someone sees "Last seen 15 minutes ago" or "Last seen 30 minutes ago," they may assume the user is still casually checking the app and choosing not to respond. In reality, the user may have logged out completely and may not receive messages or notifications until they log in again.

    I suggest distinguishing between inactivity and an intentional logout:

    • If the app is inactive in the background, continue showing "Last Seen."

  7. Use AI to detect and remove bot accounts faster

    The bot situation is getting worse every month. I report profiles daily and the same template bios keep popping up within hours. Grindr needs some kind of AI-based detection that flags duplicate photos and copy-paste bios before they even show up on the grid. I was reading about how companies hire AI dev teams for exactly this kind of thing on https://skypeek.co/web3 and it's wild that a paid app with millions of users still can't solve this. Even a basic pattern-matching algorithm would catch 80% of the spam profiles that keep ruining the experience.

    I wish you had some support for trans girls regarding hormone therapy, since many of us don't have health insurance or jobs, or live in 1 or 3 states where we don't receive support, like where I am in Louisville, KY. You should do something similar to the PrEP program.

    The hide button is replacing the block button, but it is in the way so you can't block because it's not avaliable anywhere most of the time, but the hide option doesn't work or do anything without and upgrade, so it isn't even an available feature but it is completely preventing you from being able to use the already existing and very necessary feature of blocking profiles. This is very bad and needs to be amended immediately!

    Últimamente hay mucho perfil falso, pidiendo fotos pero luego haciendo ghosting, o perfiles que dicen de quedar, y luego te bloquean
    Debería de haber un botón de alerta para marcar al usuario, si tres o más usuarios marcan esa alerta, directamente se banea la IP de ese usuario.
    Cada vez me da más y más pereza entrar en esta app porque ya parece un circo. Aquí hay gente que venimos a usar la app y quedar pa sexo, no para perder el tiempo
