1. Make ability to report users who have already blocked you available everywhere

   I was almost scammed by someone (to use a supposed verification website but that required your card info even though it was “free”) but before I could report them I was blocked. Apparently there is a “report recent chats” feature that lets you report people who’ve blocked you, but it’s “only available in select locations”. Make it available everywhere so we can keep this app safe!

5. Filter out anyone who isn’t into MY gender

   The gender filter is terribly broken in that it only addresses HALF the equation.

   Whether you are cis or trans, gay or straight, I think one thing we should all be able to agree on is that we are SICK AND TIRED of seeing profiles of people WHO ARE NOT EVEN INTO OUR GENDER.

   It’s absurd to me that in 2023 an explicitly queer app doesn’t have this basic functionality that most cishet apps do:

   If someone signs up as a man DO NOT show them profiles of ANYONE who has set their filters as not looking for men. And if someone signs up as a woman DO NOT show them profiles of ANYONE who has set their filters as not looking for women.

   There is zero reason to not have this as default behaviour by now. The way things are currently set up just pisses everyone off & frankly has caused a lot of gay men to blame trans people for “ruining the app” when there is such a simple fix!

6. Allow mock locations with gps simulators

8. Valid Driver's license or id

   In order to use this app, a valid driver's license or ID should be required, for anyone who is worried about their info being leaked, all that would need to be shown is you're name and date of birth, and when it expires. I'm sick of being contacted by minors, and having to report them and track down their parents to tell them that their CHILD is doing this shady ass shit.
   
   When you send in a picture of your ID or dl, you should have to take a picture of yourself with a randomly generated number you have to write down and hold up to verify it is you!!!! Let's get rid of all these shady mother f@ckers and catfish!!!

    I work for the Health Department as a disease intervention specialist. Many patients don’t have contact with past hookups, it would be beneficial to send push notifications to users anonymously to get treated for contact to (chlamydia, gonorrhea, Syphilis (managed HIV)). DIS are struggling to control infection in the US population because of these apps.

12. Map based for cruising, finding guys nearby and hot spots for hooking up

    The app is ok in letting you know the distance of guys in your area but I think it would be a lot better if you added a map feature where you can see exactly how far or have an idea of what area you might be heading too. Of course you don’t have to pin point the exact location of users, with just showing up on the map within a few feet of the location a user is currently at would be nice. Also add the option of selecting a user role such as crossdresser would be good too and a filter to find guys based on your taste such as ethnicity.

16. Stop disabling profiles w/o hearing boyh sides

    Admins/Moderators need to start getting insight and evidence from those being reported for Grindr Community and Policy Guidelines instead of automatically disabling the so called "violators" profile. You are way too quick to believe the reporter without speaking with the person reported. And police people profile names I see tons of profile names promoting party and pnp everyday with zero repercussions

18. Fix the fucking connectivity issues preventing messages from sending!

    I constantly have to close and reopen the app to try and send messages that are failing to send, while ads load perfectly fine! Its completely unacceptable! Fix your fucking shit!

    With this new update, some profiles that tap on from the grid appear as completely blank profiles. Their photo doesn't appear and the profile is completely blank. So you can't see any of their info. If you truly want to view their full profile, the only way to do so is by actually sending them a message via that blank profile page. Surprisingly, that "Say something..." messaging function doesn't seem to be bugged, and will actually send the message you type. Favoriting the profile doesn't even work. So you basically HAVE to send the blank profile a message so that you can then refer back to your sent messages, tap on that profile again, and finally see the full profile. What a fail!!! Fix this garbage update. One step forward, 69 steps back!!
