1. Much of what is problematic on Grindr has to do with user attitudes and their distasteful behaviors. The app can only do so much

   So much of the frustrations felt within the app come from unpleasant interactions. The ability to present yourself as someone else, collect pics and block, make demands and behave entitled to personal information from people you’ve never met and then block after a nasty comment and lastly the lack of respect for online etiquette and for the private lives of those you engage with causes many to have to take long breaks as to not be overwhelmed. More behavioral issues include taking extraordinary steps to track people down, attempting to find out who they’ve met with, invading privacy and blatant stalking are all daily problems for most. There is a belief by some who use Grindr that once you engage in a greeting or conversation, they have a right to every detail of your life and “no thanks” or “not interested” are received as challenges rather than severing the contact. Again, these are problems but not necessarily as much to do with the app as it is the decline of civility in the world we live

3. Clearer message state indicator

   As a user
   When I'm viewing messages in a thread
   I want the the message state indicator "Sent", "Delivered" and "Read" to be much clearer
   so that it's easier to differentiate between the words "Sent" and "Read" as they have the same number of characters/word shape.

   I would love for something like "3 checkmarks" (like WhatsApp) to be implemented.

   Maybe have a coloured symbol alongside the text so it's much clearer.

   Dear Grindr Team,

   I hope this message finds you well. I am a long-time user of Grindr, and I wanted to share my concerns about some recent changes to the platform. Grindr has played a pivotal role in connecting and bringing together the LGBTQ+ community, but I’ve noticed a shift in its focus that has raised some issues.

   Firstly, the decision to group everyone from transgenders, transsexuals, bisexuals, homosexuals, and others into a single category feels like a simplification that doesn’t accurately represent the diverse experiences and identities within the LGBTQ+ community. It’s crucial to acknowledge and celebrate the unique aspects of each group.

   Secondly, the limitations placed on the ability to search profiles have been progressively increasing, to the point where free users can only see a very limited number of profiles. This restriction can be frustrating and discouraging for many users, especially those who may not have the means to afford a subscription.

   Moreover, the apparent manipulation of who can see profiles based on subscription fees rather than GPS location is concerning. The platform should prioritize proximity-based connections for the safety and convenience of its users.

   I urge you to consider the impact of these changes on the gay community and not solely as a source of revenue. While monetization is essential for the sustainability of the platform, it’s equally important to maintain the core values of inclusivity, diversity, and community-building.

   I would appreciate it if Grindr could take these concerns into account and consider making adjustments that better serve the LGBTQ+ community’s interests and needs. Your platform has been an integral part of our lives, and it’s our hope that it continues to be a positive and inclusive space for everyone.

   There should be the ability radius As to who do you wanna see on Grindr. It’s so weird that where I’m located, I only see people that are 50+ miles away. Unreal. Is it just me or this app seems to be deteriorating and it quickly it is!!

8. reliable profiles

   It is very annoying spams profiles and people that is not really interested to connect and meet. Couldn’t the app show the profile date creation? This way I believe is an additional way to assess a prpfile reliability.

14. Bisexual should be a tribe and not a tag. Or there should be more profiles visible with the bi tag. For transwomen who don’t want chasers.

    As transwoman who don’t like dating chasers but are open to dating men it would be fair to have more access to profiles of bisexual men. Because it’s not a tribe but a tag only three profiles are being shown to me. This is very limiting to trans women trying to have real dates in the app.

    When you get a new message from somebody when there is an album already in the chat, Grindr freezes and does not pass through until you go to a different app and give back in. This is on ios

18. being allowed to choose which age group sees our profiles

    we should be able to choose which age groups can see our profiles and which we don't. That way, as a 20 year old, i won't feel uncomfortable seeing 50 year olds view me
