2. Make ads great again! Or in English Make ads simpler to interact with..

   It appears the business plan is to simply harass your user base to pay for service, not the ethical way and certainly not efficient. For every sub gained you have lost many more who have succumbed to the insanity of waiting for then clicking close x boxes on adverts. Some up to 4 or 5 clicks per ad.

   Converting sane horny would be customers to insane horny and very frustrated wrecks surely isn’t an award winning, profit maximising strategy. The tactic of let’s pee people off so much that they pay us for the privilege of not seeing ads is something I’d expect from certain parts of 3rd world countries (yes Nigeria I’m looking at you).

   Why not just clean up your ad interface, Allow for the ad to play for 5 to ten seconds then 1 click and gone THEN UNDER NO CIRCUMSTANCES DO YOU HIT THE CUSTOMER WITH ANOTHER AD BEFORE THEY HAVE EVEN FINISHED LETTING OUT THEIR RELIF SIGH. It’s like a combo sucker punch that makes you wanna punch a kid (that’s a joke btw), no sane person does that, but isn’t that the point?

   Instead let your potential customer get a few minutes respite and enjoy what your site/app offers.

   Ad revenue is important to the business and we recognise this but less is better sometimes and I think this is not in contention with Grindr. You can still make money, you just don’t have to spam fricken King Shot us like the Bowmaster of Helmsdeep. If your customer hasn’t clicked to purchase a brand spanking new copy of whatever trash Gatcha game your ads are promoting in 5 seconds, he ain’t ever going to.

   I challenge you to make ads great again using some or all points made and you’ll have far more potential customers buying your premiums. But what do I know other than you ain’t getting a penny from me while you make my stay memorable for all the wrong reasons.

7. The adds are out of hand

   You people are trying to make the free version of this app so insufferable that you're destroying your product. I'm guessing you're trying to make people shell out money for one of your premium versions. I rarely noticed what these ads are even for because I'm so angry at being shown them. All I've done is open the app. I've not had a chance to so much is interact with it yet, and you're showing me an ad. So now I have to x out of four screens, each screen has to stay up for so long before I can close it, and that's just to get back to the app if I'm lucky. Why do I have to close four screens to get out of the ad? In what world does that seem reasonable? What web traffic could these advertisers possibly be getting from your ads, because if I ever manage to even notice what they're for I basically vowed to never give them my business because they make me so mad. I've been using this app off and on since 2010. I don't remember when you started showing pop-up ads, but I do know they have never made me want whatever they're selling. I usually don't even know, because the whole time all I'm doing is looking for the spot I have to touch to make it go away. Couldn't you just leave it at two screens, and leave them up for long enough that I can even tell what the hell they're for, and call it good enough? And what's with the tiny x that's pushed so far into the corner of the screen, you're not even sure the whole ex is showing. At least least half the time you can't seem to hit the exact spot because apparently anything that's not the little x is going to redirect you. So many times I'll see the notification, and just ignore it because I don't want to have to deal with an ad, because I know I'll have to view one before I can even read the message. A lot of the time, I just decide it's not worth bothering. You're getting way too greedy, and you're going to alienate the largest demographic of your entire user base. It's not like the freezers don't make you money, and if you alienate all of us, your premium users are not really going to feel like they have such a great experience either cuz it's going to be a lot fewer people using the app. Seriously guys get it together, because I think about deleting this app multiple times every day that I open it. You have a lot of other issues you need to work on too, but that's the one that pisses me off so much that it's going to lose me as a user at some point. The amount of ads is ridiculous, but primarily because of how hard they are to back out of. You have got to stop showing ads before the user has even done anything. At least go back to letting me actually view the profile, read the message, or message a profile first. Go back to showing me an ad after I try to back out of whatever I've already done, because at least then you've provided me with something functional ish before making me view an ad.

   I dont want to see men that are 30 miles away in the nearby blocks. We should show people that are in the area. It seems to be randomized now which makes it difficult for users and honestly feels like im wasting my time.

10. Please bring back the feature (right now) for profiles based on the nearest distance and not time.

    It is absolutely inconvenient to view profiles when they are scattered; all new profiles occupying the first lines are blocked because they are far away, and all available profiles are at the end of the list. Since we published it a few minutes ago, please bring back the control function so we can customize what to select, or change the placement order based on distance.

    Grinder should still let you send pics when you not a paid member because it stop your connection with people when you can't send pics when they ask and plus they already limited who sees your profile when you not a paid member so they shouldn't limited how picture you send when you not a paid member

    Bring back sending unlimited photos. Only being able to send 8 pictures a day has made the app quite literally unusable. I've been on Grindr for over a decade and I can no longer use it as I've been using it. By the time I answer a couple messages in the morning I've already hit the limit, then there's no point for me to come back on the app because I can't even answer other messages with the picture I want to send. Every other one of your competitors allows for unlimited pictures. You're literally driving people away all because you want to try and drain money out of them. You can't expect people to be ok paying for a feature they've been using for free for years. And it's not really free, since a third of the time on the app is spent watching those ads you all get revenue from

    There is spam all over this site. Does a person actually review the recommendations? If they do why are there dozens of links to unrelated sites that haven’t been removed? It is so unprofessional and candidly a waste of time to report them.

15. Easier way to report spam accounts

    Right now it takes several clicks to report a bot account. These are pretty easy to spot by profile text so it would be nice if these accounts either had a banner at top “Potential spam” with a button to report or there was a persistent icon button for profiles to report spam

    This grinder app has gone to shit so many bot profiles i keep trying to hide them and they keep coming back the next day grinder took the block button away and I don't know why that was stupid and there is so many bot profiles its crazy this app sucks I don't even want to be on here no more and I seen where grinder is wanting to do a id check when signing up to make a grinder profile that will invade our privacy and its a setup for identity theft there a lot of porn sites that won't even do a id age check because of privacy and identity theft thay just locked out there porn sites in the states asking for a id check and the porn sites that are doing the age check i won't give them my id I refuse identity theft is a real thing and its a problem and if grinder starts asking for a id check a lot of guys will stop using grinder including me i don't care how safe grinder says there id check is its not safe

    • Periodic wellness-focused messaging that acknowledges recovery and sobriety as valid and supported paths within the community

    Providing visibility to recovery resources would signal that Grindr supports the full spectrum of user experiences - including those seeking help, practicing harm reduction, or living sober lives. This kind of inclusion could reduce stigma, encourage safer choices, and potentially help users who may not otherwise know where to turn.

    I believe this would align well with Grindr’s stated commitments to community health, safety, and inclusion, while also demonstrating leadership among dating platforms.
