It’s a really sad day when as a gay man, you are forced to pay to just interact with your own community. The subscriptions are way too expensive so some features need to be free! Removing free features will earn the distrust of the community, that can’t be replaced with other customers.4 votes -

Get rid of popup adds.
This is so fucking annoying when I open the app there’s an instant add. I want to text somebody- an add. Get rid of these popup adds, the ones between profiles should be enough. Even though membership is too expensive.

Blocking
It’d be nice if you added the blocking feature back to the paying premium members. Like a lot of gay neighborhoods, not much changes within a half mile of my house and it gets frustrating having to sort through the same people time after time. Let me know if you have suggestions for me, as this is my suggestion for you :-). Otherwise, thank you for your app, just beef up the benefits for its relatively high price. Thx

Remove social media links to reduce spam
The amount of people still able to spoof their location and promote their X and Instagram and onlyfans is getting out of control. Grindr should remove social links to disincentivize this self-promotion. Social media can be shared privately once a connection is formed.

Not getting enough masuline only profiles without the fem populatation
I feel it would be a simple fix on the app. Men who are only interested in men and men who are only interested in fem ta cd.
It would go a long way to representing the new community inclusions while men who like men can have their field view of men.

Taken on Grindr is a fantastic option and can improve even more, if it is not possible to take a screenshot of the photo and the photos go to the album of also have the stamp.

The aggressiveness of ads
The aggressiveness of the ads needs to stop, or at least calm down. I don’t mind an ad every now and then but every 10secs is a bit much. The prices are too high to get the no-ad experience. I’m sure people are ditching the app because of this.

make incognito better
It shouldn’t say Offline right away when we go Incognito. It eliminates the incognito part, because it’s obvious. That’s not how staying offline works. It should just continue the count down as if we logged normally.

Grid Shuffle Feature
The Shuffle feature is a rather non essential feature that the developers thought are needed by the users which if im not wrong has caused more issues than any benefits plus. Features like this is driving me away from using the app anymore

Bring Back the Gay-Only Space
I’d like to respectfully request that Grindr take steps to maintain its core purpose as a space primarily designed for gay men. Over time, the platform has seen an increase in profiles from individuals who identify as women or transsexuals, which can sometimes shift the dynamics of what has traditionally been a space for same-sex male connections. While inclusivity is important, it’s equally valid to preserve platforms that were created with a specific community in mind. Many users joined Grindr because it was a place to connect with other gay men without having to explain or navigate around different expectations…

Bring back search bar in chat/inbox
Previously there was a search bar in the chat/inbox area where we could type something we mentioned in a convo and it brought up all the topics and which profiles it was discussed with. Please can we have that feature back?

Guys who can verify themselves with selfie like other dating apps give then a verified badges so people can trust them.
