3. Ideas for addressing the huge increase in spam.

   The amount of spam accounts is out of control, and it doesn't seem like Grindr is doing much about it. Here are some ideas:

   Delete the social fields from profiles and set up better text filters for profile text. The social media fields are only used for spam anyway.

   Or, keep a record of the spam social accounts and just block those from being linked. Many are constantly linking to the same social account, how hard is it to block that account from all profiles?

   Shadow ban accounts that get one spam report until they verify as human. This slows down spam accounts making them less worthwhile.

   Limit the ability of new accounts to tap people. Taps and social links are the main tools of spammers.

   Bring back blocking. The correlation between removing blocks and increasing spam is pretty obvious.

   Track which uses are providing consistently reliable spam reports. Increase the weighting on their reports so when they flag a profile it gets shadow banned until review.

   Spam profiles usually just put up a fake picture and then profile text sending you to socials. I'm assuming they never respond to messages. The ratio of messages received to messages sent could be used as an indicator, especially for new accounts.

   Once you introduce more of these ways to flag accounts that are likely spam, you can either shadow ban until they verify as human (or until review), or remove features until they verify. For example you could disable their ability to tap until verify, or hide their images until verify, remove the things that spammers are relying on to get wide exposure.

   Something has to be done to try and address this, the app is approaching 50% spam at this point.

4. Just delete socials on profiles. They're only used for spam anyway.

   Grindr seems unable, or uninterested in dealing with the huge amount of spam that is increasingly filling the app. Constant recreation of fake accounts that stay up for days after reporting.

   All of these accounts rely on linking their social media accounts and sending people to those links. Almost no genuine account needs to link their social media.

   The mass of spam accounts with tapping on users profiles is really really annoying!!

   Here is a concrete idea for avoiding this:
   Delete the fields for Social media links, or at least delete it for free accounts.
   No spammer will pay for an account - esp. bc he doesn't want to disclose his payment details.

   In my personal opinion. I don’t like the fact that any user can by rude and offensive with me and then block me and the whole conversation fades away and all the evidence goes away. I can’t even report that profile because it’s disappeared. So what? I have to be victim of verbal abuse and do nothing???
   And let that person doing that to others like nothing??

   Verbal abuse. Spam. Scammers. Non showing persons. Unreal people talking. Abusive.

    Estaría muy bien hacer un marcador de veracidad. Donde después de haber tenido una cita, o hablar con un perfil, poder votar si la presentación que hace de si mismo es luego verdad. La única forma de conseguir que la gente pare de mentir, es demostrarles realmente que con la verdad van a tener ganancias y mintiendo perdidas. Y ya creo que ya me entra tanto pasivo siendo y mostrando que yo soy pasivo porque el que miente seguro que está pensando que todos mienten, así que al final lo importante son las fotos y la alante. Si puediramos valorar a los perfiles con los que hablamos y quedamos, tan solo la veracidad y mostrar en porcentaje que veraz es k perfil..... Poco a poco se irán sumando más y más a dejar de mentir y crear una comunidad más contenta y ver qué al ser sincero con uno mismo y con los demás, se alcanza más objetivos.

Y ya creo que ya me entra tanto pasivo siendo y mostrando que yo soy pasivo porque el que miente seguro que está pensando que todos mienten, así que al final lo importante son las fotos y la alante.
