   Many "mature" men (+30) only talk to very young people (18 to 21), bordering on total degeneration and efebophilia. It's disgusting that this is allowed just because "it's legal." What? 3. The ads are obnoxious

   No one likes the ads. Maybe they should served an actual purpose the user. For example, Im not a subscriber so I can’t unlock profiles. I won’t subscribe but I’d watch an ad to unlock a profile, or to message a person in the For You feature that is currently useless to me as a non subscriber. This will help non subscribers to see more profiles without pissing everyone off by showing an ad every time we change screens.

   Subject: Urgent Criticisms and Demand for Significant Improvements in the Grindr App

   Dear Sir/Madam,

   I am writing this letter as a dedicated Grindr user, compelled by the need to express my deep dissatisfaction and concern regarding several critical aspects of the app's functionality and user experience. My observations aim not only to point out flaws but also to emphasize the urgency of improvements to retain the user base.

   The problems I have been facing and which require immediate attention are:

   1. Defective Online/Offline Status Feature: The "dots" indicating online and offline status do not function correctly. They scramble the information, making it impossible to genuinely know who is online or offline. This creates confusion and hinders the expected interaction within the app.
   2. Ineffective User Blocking: The user blocking feature is inoperative. When a person is blocked, they are frequently unblocked automatically shortly after, disrespecting the user's right to keep a specific person blocked and to control their own experience within the app. This failure is unacceptable and compromises user safety and comfort.
   3. Serious Inconsistencies in Location: The accuracy of the location, which should be a pillar of the app, is severely compromised. It is common to see profiles with illogical distances, such as a person 4 km away followed by another 1 km away, or vice versa. This indicates a serious problem in capturing real-time location data, even when utilizing information provided by Google.
   4. Heavy App and Lack of Relevant Updates: Grindr proves to be a heavy application, which negatively impacts performance on various devices. Furthermore, the lack of significant updates and noticeable improvements over the years is glaring. The app appears stagnant in time, failing to innovate or correct persistent issues, giving the impression of being the "same as 20+ years ago," without keeping up with current user trends and needs.
   5. Issues with Photo Requirement: The app does not seem to enforce the requirement of having a profile picture, and still allows profiles without photos, which compromises the user experience and transparency among users.

   Given this scenario of critical failures, I consider it fundamental that Grindr undergoes a rapid and comprehensive update to rectify these issues. Should there not be a visible commitment and concrete actions to resolve these matters in the near future, I will be obliged not to renew my subscription and, actively, recommend to my friends that they do not either.

   I believe Grindr has great potential, but the quality and basic functionality of the app must be a priority. I await a response and, more importantly, the implementation of improvements that demonstrate respect for your users.

6. Distance variable

   For rural customer, that could be great to have an option to change the value of the distance calculated by the distance to do by the road (like with maps the Google) and not by the geographic distance. For example, when I open the app I have a lot of people at less than 25 km, but when I look at the map they are at 75 km and more because we have a couple of villages around a lake but there is no road connected all the villages together. So it is really difficult to determine who is really close to me or not.

11. You should be able to report an account even after they block you.

    There should be a report option available for chats/accounts that have blocked you.
    Apparently, this already exists called "Report a recent chat" in Settings, but I know it is not available to most users.
    I've just had someone insult and abuse me, and threaten to leak my nudes.

    So i see all the girls in Grinder which shouldn't be there. I go to delete their profiles only to find out you can only hide them. Well the dumbest thing you did was removed that function. Even though what you said was they would not be back on your grid. That's not true, ive now "hidden" a females profile twice and frankly grinder used to be better than it is now. Why did you remove the delete function from the grid? Im gay and frankly I do not want to see women taking up space for men. The women profiles are NOT drag queens or cross dressers, they are actually women's profiles that are more than likely SPAM, or BOTs. I think it would be so much easier if I had a right to either delete or hide a profile. Hiding a profile, say someone was secretly using Grinder and their significant other found not only the app but the profiles hidden. One would learn that yes it's a choice to be on your site but when you can't delete who you chat with, there's a divorce that Grinder initiated. I personally am single and ready to meet people, but when 60% of the "Grinder Grid" are Bots or Spam profiles, not much mingling can be done. So do us all a favor and put back the delete button. Think of the less amount you all will have to do if you did that. Because im going to start reporting all those profiles as a illegal sex act, so you all have to investigate. Let us delete those profiles so you dont have to.

    Grindr driven fake profiles trying to get you to fake socials is beyond excessive. It steals grindrs credibility and for an app with no credibility the price charged is not business smart. We are all waiting for the day to use another dating app that is secure affordable and safe. Grindr is none of these. Thanks for nothing Grindr.     There should be a feature that allows the user to select a specific distance e.g 1km/mile so that the user can be able to receive a grid of profiles within that selected distance. This should also apply to users who choose not to display their distance
