Review Grindr Banning Algorithm?
Over a month ago I was trying to create an account and accidentally selected the wrong year which led to Grindr banning me in terms of underage account creation I assume. And now, it seems that I cannot even make another account because it is like they banned my device absolutely.
I submitted the ban appeal over a month ago and apparently moderators take "1-2" business days to review it. I even mentioned my willingness to verify my actual age. But banning my whole device just because I selected the wrong year accidentally (the iPhone user interfce is not the best when using the scroll option)? That's unfair. I believe it's the algortihm or something that's detecting I'm trying to make multiple accounts after the previous account was rejected because I accidentally selected the wrong age.
I do NOT want to do a factory reset, buy a new phone and get a new number. That's ridiculous.
Please reconsider the way you ban users!

If you entered the wrong birth year and it triggered an underage flag, Grindr likely applied an automatic ban. These systems are strict because of legal requirements, and they sometimes include device bans, which prevent new accounts from being created on the same phone. I know it’s frustrating — kind of like how searching for the best shed style at https://duramaxshedsonline.com/collections/lean-to-sheds only to pick the wrong option can leave you stuck. Unfortunately, underage-related bans are rarely reversed, even if it was a mistake. Your only realistic option is to submit a clear, concise appeal offering to verify your age with official ID and wait for a response. Creating new accounts can reinforce the ban. There isn’t a reliable way to bypass this without going through their review process.
