1. Bring Back the Block Feature

   They NEED to bring back the block feature. I don't care if I haven't texted a person, I should be able to block another person. This has caused a lot of safety concerns as the hide feature doesn't work and I've had people text me who I don't want to interact with because they have threatened my safety. If I were to block them from the start, I wouldn't have them approach me. I could already have the step in protecting myself. The hide feature is quite dumb and doesn't hide anyone at all. I still see the people on my end all the time, so what is the point? I feel like we should be able to block whomever, whenever, and no matter how many times.

3. Mandatory Gender Identity & Preference Filter

   Dear Grindr Team,

   I’d like to suggest a feature that would greatly improve the user experience — especially for people who have specific preferences.

   Problem:
   Currently, it’s difficult to filter out profiles that aren’t aligned with what I’m looking for. For instance, I’m not interested in meeting crossdressers or those who identify as women, but many such profiles show up in my area. Similarly, some users are looking exclusively for women, which doesn’t match my interests either.

   Suggested Solution:
   1. Make it mandatory for users to specify their gender identity in their profile (e.g., cis male, trans male, trans female, non-binary, crossdresser, etc.).
   2. Introduce a strong filtering system where users can choose to hide profiles that don’t match their preferences (for example:
   • Hide crossdressers
   • Hide users looking for women
   • Hide users with no gender specified)

   This would help users better navigate the app and find people they’re genuinely compatible with, while also making the experience more respectful and tailored to everyone’s needs.

4. Ads

   Guys the ads are diabolical at the minute. I get the need for ads on a free app, I really do, but 3 minute unskippable ads every few clicks is awful. If you want to gimme a quick 10-15 sec ad every now and then, feel free. But making me watch 3 minutes of some shitty A.I generated game that probably doesnt actually exist and im NEVER going to play is a joke

5. Guys in my grid being > 600kms+ away

   How about calibrating whatever GPS program you're using. I literally have a guy 1km away, 651kms away, and then 2kms away.

   Oh yeah, also waaaayyy too many ads.

9. Searching for notes

   Since the function to search for notes isn’t available anymore there is no way to stay in contact with other profiles easily. More and more guys are switching to other apps like Telegram or Snap to keep in touch instead. Is this really the goal of your team? You are loosing traffic and for user is uncomfortable. 12. Bring back favourites and search for text in notes of favourites

    Since the favourites have been included in the general filters there is no way to search for a name or text in notes of favourites - this was an essential feature that allows you to add city or other info in notes and then find people again like that.
    Ideally favourites should be groupable by distance or last chatted like in scruff.

    Free users are exposed to a large number of ads, which already generates revenue for Grindr. However, at the same time, many features are locked unless you pay—such as seeing who viewed your profile, who tapped you, or accessing more profiles.

    This feels unfair. If ads are already making money for the app, then free users shouldn’t face so many limitations. Paying for extra features is understandable, but basic functionality shouldn’t feel like it’s behind a paywall and full of ads. It creates a frustrating experience that pushes users away rather than encouraging them to upgrade.

    Additionally, features like Taps and Favorites used to be more accessible, and bringing them back to their earlier, more user-friendly versions would greatly improve the overall experience. These were essential parts of how people connected, and limiting them now feels like a step backward.

    Why would you change the favorites again?!? I hate the way it is. It’s practically useless. I can’t see if they have been on recently or nearby without having to go to their profile and looking like a creeper when I show up in their veiwed me.

17. Hide boosted profiles

    I really don’t like watching boosted profiles around a specific location. It’s disturbing and confusing. Gets me mad to have to scroll down to find where the actual profiles start. Please give boosted profiles a symbol or give me the option to exclude them from my grid. I already pay for extra and this is exactly like adds. Thanks to the team.

    U guys seriously have to get on with the program. U allow 1 profile to show ass and dick. The next profile u show that fucked up message some pics are not allowed. 20. Stop letting people tap album pictures

    I pay for xtra. Every time i share my album with the “view once” limit, guys have started tapping the pics so they stay in chat and can continue to view them indefinitely—completely negating the point of “view once”. it’s ridiculous.
