    Compulsory is harsh, and will alienate a bunch of users. Other tips here are to incentivize the profile with bigger grids for more complete profiles.

    If you make face shots mandatory, people will just use other people's face shots. This is hard to do.

    The only way I've seen to make this work:

    * User is requested to send 3 face shots in different settings.
    * User is given a code.
    * User has to write down the code, and hold it beside their face and send a selfie.
    * Facial recognition verifies that the pic with the code matches the 3 previous pics.

    This is a great idea. This gives good balance between desire for privacy and need for posting some information for people to find.

    That said: Not all fields should be the same weight. Having a good description of who you are/what you want/what you don't in your profile should be worth more than height and weight. A picture should be worth more than putting down your preferred pronouns.

    The age filter is meant for that. Depending on your criteria for hot and cute. Free grindr has 96 grid spots. Of the ones that have ages, I'd say taht 1/3 of them are under 30 in our area.
