2. Age of profile displayed publicly

   I’m getting harassed by this one guy who keeps creating new profiles and that led me to realize that it would be wonderful if it was possible to display the date/month and year of profile creation publicly - that way you would know who’s out there to harass you and who’s been around for much longer (i.e. they must be legit). I’m getting tired and anxious of this one particular person trying to catfish me (I’m probably not alone) and it’s not easy to report that kind of stuff, so such an indicator would be very helpful.

4. Distance

   Right now people can see how close you are down to the meter maybe have a third option instead of having distance set to on or off you can set it so that people can see how many km away you are, so if its under 1 km it will still only say 1km away i would love to show distance but i dont want people to be able to track me down easily to my exact house especially if someone that lives very close downloads the app (like 200 meters away) this would atleast make me alot comfier with turning my distance on.

15. Rename "tribes". The concept is helpful, using the language of a slaughtered people is not.

    As a community we have shown we are creative. We invent the words to express who we are. Many of the communities are the kindest people I've met. We have known pain and suffering, so we trust and support each other. 'Gay' was never enough to describe us. But we are not tribes. Our pain is real, but we do not live as the people we slaughtered did. We are building lasting communities together. For some of us, it will take great effort, picking up every stick we find, to reinforce the bush in which we hide, to keep our friends safe. So I feel comfortable to say, I am a faggot. I hope you can feel the calm to be one too.

17. Bring Tribe filtering back for free accounts

    The decision to move the ability to filter by Tribe behind the paywall makes the app essentially unusable for me. I can look at a grid of people I'm largely uninterested in or that I have little in common with, or I can look at the closest 3 people who might be of interest.

    I understand the need to encourage memberships to help pay for the app as a whole, but filtering feels like a baseline function that is necessary to make the app worth opening. This won't be a decision of if I pay for Xtra or not, it'll be a decision of when I give up on Grindr and focus on other alternatives instead.
