2. Why did y’all get rid of “Pacific Islander” as an ethnicity option? We still exist!

   Y’all used to have Pacific Islander as an ethnicity option but it’s no longer available. We still exist! And want to connect with others in our community! You say you’re committed to inclusion but you allow others to identify, but we can’t. Also it’s AAPI month! Please add Pacific Islander as an ethnicity option!

3. Bring back location spoofing

   I used a GPS spoofer as did many other for safety and work reasons. I normally only set it a few blocks away! The newest update removed that ability and made me consider moving to another app.

5. Enough with the ads!

   Using Grindr used to be a pleasant experience, but you selling out to advertisers at the expense of your users has put this app at the bottom of the gay dating app totem pole for me. I cannot check or send messages, or even view profiles without having to waste 15 seconds or more reading forced advtertising. It's not even one 5 second ad you're forcing us to watch; it redirects and redirects until it finally freezes., so after all that I am still forced to close the app. It's equally as annoying to close the app and reopen it just to avoid your incessant ads. I understand you need revenue, but this is not the way. You need to seriously do better if you want to remain in the game. You are not a monopoly.

    This feature apparently just popped up on my app....I was looking for people nearby then all of a sudden they get rearranged and people who are 20 miles are at the top and people who are a mile are way farther down....this feature sucks...hate it with a passion...I initially thought my phone was messed up...needs to be gotten rid of...hate hate hate this feature

14. An increase of scammers

    I have recently noticed an increase in scam accounts messaging me. Most of them are for websites advertising adult content that you must sign up for by first giving the platform your credit/debit card information, others are trying to be a little more sophisticated by trying to get users to sing up for external "social media" platforms, such as a website known as "dreamguydatesandfun", found here: dreamguydatesandfun.com (Please do not sign up with real information as you will be scammed). I have done some research into the website and domain names, alongside similar reports such as this one from a news outlet in Ireland (https://www.siliconrepublic.com/enterprise/grindr-messaging-scam-ireland) which so happens to be the exact way they attempted to scam myself. These scams have someone message you and ask you to sign up for their safety in order to gain credit/debit card information before scamming you. There is a more in-depth explanation in the news-article already attached.

    you should be able to select multiple and you need a non covid vaccinated or pureblood for those who did not inject the covid vaccine and it would also let others know if they are also not vaccinated been thinking of making an app just for non vaccinated gay men as there is no app that offers this filter and option

17. Include in a user’s profile whether dick size matters to them or not.

    For the purpose of saving time and protecting the privacy of users, I suggest there be a button in our profile where we state whether 🍆 size is important or not to that user. This would allow people to be more informed before chatting with others and prevent the unnecessary sharing of nudes. Of course, the user can explain further in their description if they see fit.

19. Create some version of AOL Instant Messenger's old "Warn" feature for flakes/fake profiles

    In addition to the usual spam/bot accounts, this app has way too many users who either have fake profiles or lead people on without ever intending to actually meet (presumably most of them are just pic collectors). I would wager that all of us have experienced this multiple times. Grindr and other apps need create a feature similar to the Warn button that AIM had in the early 00s.

    Essentially, every user had a Warn meter that started at 0%. The feature was intended to alert others if a particular user was hostile, a scammer, or otherwise should be avoided. If someone hit the Warn button on your profile, the meter would go up a small amount, and then slowly decrease over time back to 0. If your meter got too high (because multiple other users Warned you), certain restrictions would kick in. First, the number and frequency of messages you could send would be limited and at a certain Warn level, your account would effectively be suspended for several days.

    Obviously this feature would need some tweaking and updating to work for Grindr in the 2020s and to prevent it being abused by users. But it would ACTUALLY do something to eliminate bad faith actors and fake profiles on this site if a reputation for repeated bad behavior became attached to their profiles. Even if grindr doesn't want to use it to issue bans, it would at least allow the rest of us to avoid the guys who come here with bad intentions .
