Cheater
There are thousands of folks here who refuse to show up even after seeing you. That's outrageous behaviour. Grindr needs to ensure that people's profiles are verified and that when a user messages, their authentic face pics are also shared. Soo many fake assholes are hiding behind screen in name of being discrete and I think this makes it easier for people to cheat.
It's a gay dating app which has been transformed into a hook-up app. That's horribly sad.

If you pay for a premium account you should have the ability to turn off read receipts on messages
So basically like for iPhone should be able to turn your read receipts on/off so that when a user messages you if it read the message it will still show as delivered on the senders end. Or something like skype, where if I turn ny read receipts off then I can’t see if other people view my message to them until I turn them back on.

Grindr is and always be the most "gay" known app. As a man who used this to find other men like me living a terrible life it gave me hope. N
Get a better screening option. It is obvious to gay men, that "straight" men seeking only trans women are literally straight men who want a trans man who portrays a female so well they can treat them like a sex toy. Grindr has become a great idea for people who had no voice, and had possibility of meeting their dream man. Even better a man they already knew. It was a therapist that brought true gay men together. Block users out of personal age range from seeing accounts
I want to be able to block my own account from showing up for users out of my age range, for example if my max age is 25 then users 26 or older can't see my profile. This would stop all the creepy dms I get from old guys.

No one cares about the fake profiles with ads in the photos. Waste of time and my money if thats going to be a constant issue.

I am in spain right now. loads off fcc hot men, but hardly anyone speaks a word of english. could you develop a translate button to a language you could specify yourself? you could use google translate/deepl/leo to connect us better. what do you think?

User authenticity check and verification
As there are so much fake profiles, please implement a possibility for users to get identified as real user through other users (feature exist in Gay Romeo). Thank you!

I cannot do anything that asks me to verify my account with a password because I did not use one to sign up, I signed up with my Apple ID
Nothing that asks me to verify my account with a password (such as downloading my data, changing email or password, or even deleting my account) works because I did not use a password when I signed up - I used “Sign Up with Apple ID” which neither creates a password nor stores one on my device.
FIX THIS!

There should be an option to choose a version of a back up
It’s bad enough as it is that the “back up” button is big given that people back up because they constantly re-download grindr—meaning that when they redownload the app and go to that setting they would accidentally back up the current one and essentially delete a previous back up.
You should, instead, make it so that people can access a version of their back up with the specified time and date. instead of overriding the previous versions, it should just add on to them.

Diagnosis of fictitious profiles

If possible, there should be a feature that provides safety to the users of the application
The first - profiles whose identity has been verified by youAnd the second button that alerts to suspicious bot activity
(After all, reporting a user who is suspected of being an impersonator is quite cumbersome - especially since there are dozens of them)In these moments I had to delete 24 profiles that were suspiciously about fifty meters from me
The feature will save the location activity and users of that moment
For example email and current locationIP address
and cycles…

Clearer instructions how to go from xtra to unlimited
Its not crystal clear how to upgrade the xtra 20 bucks to get Unlimited without risking paying for an unlimited but 3 days ago i just paid 20 for xtra then oops now i paid for xtra and unlimitd and over paid by 20 bucks confuse you?

Blocking recently created profiles
I keep having issues with the same creeps messaging me from a blank recently created profile and having to waste time working out that it's them each time. Blocking or reporting them does nothing as they just create new emails/profiles and try again in a few hours.
Is it possible to only allow profiles that have been active for X days/weeks to see me or contact me? This will make blocking actually make them think twice and allow me to only have to chat to people that are serious.12 votes -
Why would you make gender uncustomizable?
Taking away people’s ability to explain their gender as they see it is a step backwards. I don’t know why y’all would decide to make this a feature in our current climate. Only explanation I can see is because of the huge number of cis men who use the section to joke about non binary genders, which is understandable. However, those transphobic people should not be the reason that trans people have confines placed on their identities.
Also- the category I would put this in is User Experience but that’s not an option.
