We need to be able to report users, even if they block us.
There are so many people who are abusive, catfishing, stealing nudes, and doing other nefarious things and getting away with it because they just block everyone once they get what they want, or once they suspect someone’s onto them. We need to be able to report them even after they block us, so we have a better chance of stopping them! Otherwise, the app is literally permitting illegal conduct to continue and refusing to offer any moderation or protection for its users, which is criminally negligent.

A lot of people are frustrated because they don't have answers which causes them to react badly and report people's accounts, that's why I suggest more control on reporting because a lot of people are banned for nothing because of some frustrated people

Often times creepy & even predatory users who lurk on Grindr will send messages that very clearly break Grinder's ToS without any regard for their action. Usually this comes in the form of an extremely disrespectful & even sexually harassing message; and more often than not by the time you reject their advances or decline their approach they switch into a flood of malicious messages before blocking you so you can't report them. This appears to be a major flaw on Grindr as it allows abusive behavior to run rampant without much consequence to the person violating Grindr rules. All users should still be able to access their messages with a blocked user for the purpose of filing reports as needed. For example, I have screenshots of abusive messages I've received and before I can report them, I've been blocked and the other person gets away Scott-free. I seriously hope Grindr considers implementation of better ways to prevent this kind of abusive behavior on their platform or allows users to still access DMs to file a necessary report.

How can I get support. The performance of the app totally sucks. I try to block and nothing happens. Blocked users come back again. What am I paying for? I really hope someone has an alternative app.

All grindr users should be able to report people who have blocked you.
The reason being is because a death threat was just made against me and dude blocked me before I could report him and normally I'd just let this be blown off but he literally has my address it's stupid how I cant have the app and feel safe. And i know some of yall are thinking just uninstall the app...:/ well I dont want to do that I've meet really amazing people on there and I dont want this one guy pooping on my parade so if someone that works for grindr sees this please get in contact ik his profile and name.

If a person page is reported shouldn't both parties be suspended until the investigation is done? This racist guy is mad I won't sleep with him. And reports my page everytime he finds me. And Grindr makes me pay for it.

Getting very frustrated by people using this app saying they wanting to hook up and getting address details saying they coming over and then they block and chats history gone. There should be someway that grindr can track them once reported and if it’s an ongoing behaviour of there’s the they get banned.

Hold tap on profile photo and show more options, without access profile. Could block, report, hide profile etc

This is exactly what I joined this forum to post. I get so many picture collectors daily, demanding pictures who catfish and block immediately, and it would be nice to be able to report these losers.

There’s a big blind spot in the reporting system where if a user blocks you, you can no longer report them. People take advantage of this, for example, by saying inflammatory things and then blocking you before you can submit a report for moderation. I think a way this can be addressed is by revamping the block system into a mute and/or hide function so the person that wants to end the interaction can, but the transcript is still accessible so if community guidelines are violated, there’s still the ability to report and address those violations.

This is a huge problem.
The spammers and catfishers can use the Block feature to prevent you from reporting them.Blocking should only prevent messages from being sent back and forth. It shouldn't prevent you from reporting abuse, or being able to identify or screenshot the abuse that took place.

Thank you, I've had an issue 3 years ago where I rejected a guy because he wasnt my type and was looking for fun and I wasn't and instead of taking mo for an answer he lectured me that grindr was a hookup app and called me a bunch of insults and then would report me and block me and then unblock me just to insult and report me me again so I would see his messages in my notifications but if I wanted to take action like report or block him so he cant do this to me, I couldn't because theres no way to report and block someone who blocks you first. And he did this over and over until I had a temporary ban put on my account after not having any issues the entire time I had grindr, and then once I was unbanned I didn't even have a chance to talk to anyone because I was immediately banned after. And the worst part was the customer support was of no help. This was shortly after grindr was bought by a chinese company so idk if that played a role with not getting much help from customer support because language barriers or if it was because grindrs userbase is so large that they have to send in bots to review your account and see why you were reported. Either way my account was deleted and the answer that I was given was "grindr has the right to ban your account for any or no reason at all" when I asked for an explanation. I've also had issues in the past where a mod (or hacker) abused their power to harass me after I blocked them and force me off the app. Granted I was underage at the time so I shouldn't have been on grindr anyway but this dude literally was lecturing me and then using my location to find where I live and threatened to tell my parents and took pictures of my neighborhood to show how close he was. It was disturbing and honestly he should have only just reported my account rather than everything else but its another example of not having a good report system or customer support. Only reason I redownloaded grindr was because despite it's many flaws, it's the only dating app with a large userbase that allows you to see who's in your area. Most of the other big apps are strictly swipes but this one allows open communication which has both great and disastrous consequences.

I hppe you would be able to make available the reporting of accounts that have blocked you after sayjng bad words because he did not get what he wants...I thjnk rhat feature is only given to those who can afford Unlimited... Unfair practice... So if you are using Free Grindr, you will not be protected...because they dont earn from you...

So recently had a literally 2 minute interaction with a person. Who looking at the place of the picture they sent me seems they were a minor but the age said 27 so I wasn't sure of it was a teacher or not. And I can't report since they blocked me. The stress this cause and still is causing.

My face pic was reported and taken down for being “sexually suggestive”. The picture is obviously not, but it was removed anyway. Why can people report things like this and their request be honored? I didn’t violate any policy but I’m still being told I have. I think there should be more investigation into these things. It’s frustrating that someone can do that and I have no way to communicate with Grindr to defend myself. And no way to know who did it so that I can block them. Just seems very backwards.

Seems like a trend for ppl to say hi with blank profiles and when u ask then for info they block
This should be automatically reported.
Even better if u make sure a minimum number of characters are filled, before a profile is created or kept active so we know abt the profile scammers and tpers can be filtered out easily.
