2. Hsv2 declaration feature like hiv status notification on profiles

   Much like the option already given to users for HIV status declarations the feature proposed would be a close to being mirrored and easy code for web engineering and design team to reproduce exactly as you have already done for covid-19 descriptors recently given to users as an additional description feature.

   NEW DESCRIPTION FEATURE that would greatly benefit user profiles would be for Genital/sacral/oral herpes simplex viral infections these conditions are also known as a persons HSV-1 and HSV-2 status.

   The CDC statistics provided in 2022 reports that “roughly 18.6 million people living with HSV-2 reside in the United States.”

   With an additional reporting that
   “Around 1 of every 9 people in the United States between the ages of 14 and 49 has HSV-2”

   Having the opportunity for users to declare their status would help to destigmatize embarrassment around communication with partners and benefit the community health as a whole to start the national conversation and encouragement of frequent testing preventative measures for discordant partners to take to greatly mitigate transmission risk. Suppression antivirals and prophylactic medication and cleanliness habits to shower immediately before planned close sexual contact and another shower as soon as possible after close sexual contact. 5. Swipe to go back

   Version 8.14.0 somehow added a new button “X” to close a profile and go back to the grid, but it’s a huge usability issue for me because I lost usage of two of my fingers making it hard to go back with a simple action and now have to hold my phone with two hands to enable my thumb to get to the top of the screen. Swiping from the edge of the screen is much more accessible and accessibility friendly (and the close / arrow-back button can also co-exist).

6. Don’t hide top bar on iOS

   When I am in the explore view I usually find myself have to work out the way to see the top bar. Where is my profile and filters for the explorer section.
   It doesn’t seem to take that much of a space from my device, and I think I would prefer to have it fixed at the same point all the time so that I can use the options available there at any time without having to scroll down. Scroll up scroll down, scroll down.
   I cannot see the justification for this behavior from the user experience perspective.

7. More realistic options of where to meet on profile

   Currently, guys only meet at their houses, a bar or restaurant. How about meeting outdoors, a park, a truck stop, a cottage, a cinema or a sauna/bathhouse? The current selection doesn’t reflect where guys meet (or may want to) at all

9. Add the ability to manually set your location

   It would be nice to be able to choose between having your location be determined automatically by the GPS or have it set manually by the user if needed. This would be a great feature for people who have phones that have a broken GPS. This feature would let people who's GPS doesn't work for whatever reason use Grindr without needing to rely on it for the app to even function properly.

11. You'll be scrolling down through your favorites maybe checking out one of them. Then the app pushes you back up to the top. Waste of time

    The user/subscriber should have more control over the app and not have to lose their place when they are scrolling a page whether it be their favorites, nearby, or fresh.

12. Can't see profiles with albums and no public pictures

    There is a bug in the implementation of the new album feature. If the locked album icon is shown, the app does not allow you to scroll down to the rest of the profile. In the case of profiles that have a locked album and no profile pictures, this makes it impossible to ever see the rest of the profile even if it is filled out.

14. Basically not enough space to write

    Imagine if you would have the space to type on your profile for people to see what you want to say… easily done if implemented by the app or Grindr! Mostly people hook up but that doesn’t happen either because there is no communication or lack of information about the person or the relevant info in general… if you could write longer description, would be fabulous! 18. Remove profile promoting OnlyFans

    Recently I have experienced a large influx of profiles and messages that are promoting Onlyfans accounts. This is making it harder to use the app for its intended purpose, finding “meaningful connections” 😆

    I also think that OF people are exploiting Grindr users, sometimes promising them S E X in exchange for subscribing, which is obviously not true. Sometimes they even put this on their profile.

    Over the last year, I’ve seen onlyfans accounts on Grindr becoming very popular.

    The way I think that they exploiting Grindr users is that they tap u, and ur like… “ooog hot guy just tapped me” … getting hundreds of these isn’t fun 🤣

    Back to serious chat! My understanding is that this activity is not permitted under your policies:
    • The Help Center’s “Commercial activity and solicitation” page says users may not spam links use Grindr to advertise or buy or sell anything and it gives examples like sending promotional materials for a business or organization.
    
    • The Community Guidelines state that Grindr is for personal use only and you cannot use it to buy or sell or to advertise or represent a business. They also say public profiles must not promote or sell anything.
    
    • The Terms and Conditions say users will not use Grindr for any commercial or non-private use including the sale or advertisement of goods or services or providing links to other websites.

    Request / idea:

    Please strengthen automated detection and removal of profiles that promote paid content platforms. This could include
    • Keyword and link detection for terms like “OnlyFans” “OF” and common link shorteners and link hubs such as Linktree Beacons and Campsite
    • Heavier throttling or review when a profile sends the same promotional link or message to multiple recipients in a short period

    I appreciate that you already use proactive machine learning models and a moderation team. The volume I am seeing suggests additional tuning could meaningfully improve the experience for users who are looking for genuine connections.

    I have favorites that dont have miles or how far they are so when I click on favorites it shows as if they are further away or offline than they actually are
    How can you adjust that

    Your company gets so much money worldwide for these expensive memberships you couldn't even thank your gay community during pride month with free unlimited access as a thank you! Non members get 1 row of profiles to view without having to pay for an expensive subscription. These prices are beyond rediculous and added all the ads and advertising commercials. Fix it
