2. REDUNDANT ADS

   Showing me sh!t quality - grainy / pixelated - ads for apps I already have (PayPal). With no option to indicate for you that I already have it! Also the highly irritating ads for the stupid games won’t convince me to pay your extortionate prices, they’ll just encourage me to delete.

   En muchos países latinos usuarios heterosexuales buscan vender drogas. Peor aún, amenazan a los gays que los reportan o no buscan comprar. Chile, mi país, es quizá el caso más delicado y extremo. Ahora es una app de heteros que buscan drogas, sexo y servicios varios. Sé que el bloqueo es una posibilidad, pero el punto es que son demasiados. Por último facilitar una opción de bloquear varios perfiles a la vez... Aunque sigo pensando que la mejor opción es que Grindr bloqueé y de baja aquellos perfiles por dirección de IP para que no puedan volver a la app con una cuenta nueva. Aunque uno los reporte o los bloquee se siguen creando cuentas nuevas para seguir buscando sexo o vender drogas.

   Much like the option already given to users for HIV status declarations the feature proposed would be a close to being mirrored and easy code for web engineering and design team to reproduce exactly as you have already done for covid-19 descriptors recently given to users as an additional description feature.

   NEW DESCRIPTION FEATURE that would greatly benefit user profiles would be for Genital/sacral/oral herpes simplex viral infections these conditions are also known as a persons HSV-1 and HSV-2 status.

   The CDC statistics provided in 2022 reports that “roughly 18.6 million people living with HSV-2 reside in the United States.”

   With an additional reporting that
   “Around 1 of every 9 people in the United States between the ages of 14 and 49 has HSV-2”

   Having the opportunity for users to declare their status would help to destigmatize embarrassment around communication with partners and benefit the community health as a whole to start the national conversation and encouragement of frequent testing preventative measures for discordant partners to take to greatly mitigate transmission risk. Suppression antivirals and prophylactic medication and cleanliness habits to shower immediately before planned close sexual contact and another shower as soon as possible after close sexual contact. The use of barriers for partners to use could even be used to secure sponsor ship to promote clothing to cover most skin and to provide minimal access openings to allow penetration and exposure of sex organs. 7. Enough with the ads!

   Using Grindr used to be a pleasant experience, but you selling out to advertisers at the expense of your users has put this app at the bottom of the gay dating app totem pole for me. I cannot check or send messages, or even view profiles without having to waste 15 seconds or more reading forced advtertising. It's not even one 5 second ad you're forcing us to watch; it redirects and redirects until it finally freezes., so after all that I am still forced to close the app. It's equally as annoying to close the app and reopen it just to avoid your incessant ads. I understand you need revenue, but this is not the way. You need to seriously do better if you want to remain in the game. You are not a monopoly.

9. Please implement the safe sex option

   Due to the emergence of prep, a lot of guys engage in bareback anal sex. Please include a drop down menu for us to indicate whether we have sex with prep, condoms or both. I myself find it increasingly difficult to find guys who still are okay with using condoms.

16. Add a filter "looking for age group"

    I am a 48 year old looking for young 18+ guys. I want a filter that would show me young guys looking for my approx age. So in profile description if you add "looking for age group" 18-25, 26-30, 31-35 so on and so forth. It would be easier to find my type of guys rather than randomly asking all the young guys "interested in uncles?"

17. Camouflage Features for Safety & Privacy

    Give us the option to change app name from “Grindr” to something else like Calculator or Browser (to safeguard users in anti-LGBTQ environments). And also if possible an option to change the app’s default yellow and black theme which almost everyone can recognize from a distance. This will increase safety and privacy for users

    It would be very beneficial to have a setting for distance so I can set it and only see people that are near me and not all the way in a different state!!.

    Example: Distance - Within 5 Miles, 10 Miles, 15 Miles, 20 Miles, ect… something in that context I can vouch that it will work and make our lives better.
