1. Stop taking features away from paid users

   I paid to use the app. With the last update over 1/2 the features I used have been disabled and aren’t available except for unlimited now. Bs. Definitely deleting the app after the subscription runs out. Totally not worth the price. Thanks for screwing over paid users. I can’t even imagine the crap unpaid users have to deal with.

4. Enough with the ads!

   Using Grindr used to be a pleasant experience, but you selling out to advertisers at the expense of your users has put this app at the bottom of the gay dating app totem pole for me. I cannot check or send messages, or even view profiles without having to waste 15 seconds or more reading forced advtertising. It's not even one 5 second ad you're forcing us to watch; it redirects and redirects until it finally freezes., so after all that I am still forced to close the app. It's equally as annoying to close the app and reopen it just to avoid your incessant ads. I understand you need revenue, but this is not the way. You need to seriously do better if you want to remain in the game. You are not a monopoly.

   Make grindr video friendly or gif friendly. Sometimes GIPHY does not even have the gif I'm looking for. Allowing users to send gifs would be a step in the right direction.

7. Add a Local Events Tab!

   Add a tab that caters to the community where users much like fet life can host events and publish them on there. Like here in California there are a ton of events! Especially in LA and SF. We also have the Power Exchange here in SF that caters to people and the Citadel that caters to the BDSM community. steam works in Berkeley every night has a theme night that caters to gay men and on genderF%#k night it caters to trans individuals. There are so many events that the community’s and businesses that this would really benefit from. Like people couple publish about local orgies or swinger parties that cater to all genders and types of people. Much like other hookup/sexual based dating sites do. This is a good opportunity to include people to potentially meeting more people through user based events located in the app that the user base creates and other business’s that want to toss an event out there that caters to theses specific groups of people.

13. Identifying scammers

    Hey guys. Not sure if you guys have been told about this or not. This was an idea the members came up with and it’s been passed along from member to member. There’s been such a huge onslaught of scammers on the site as you undoubtedly know. It’s almost impossible to maneuver around it. So what people have been asked to do if they’re suspicious is to ask the guy to do a selfie and instruct them to for example hold one finger up. That way you can see if the actual person matches the picture. The first time it was asked of me I was shocked, but then it was explained to me why and it made perfect sense. Maybe there’s a way you guys could incorporate that into the app. I’ve been on and off Grindr since the beginning and it’s almost intolerable with the scammers. I’m sure you probably already know, but they always start up the same by greeting you a short sentence of something and then they go directly to inquiring what you do for a living. 15. Get rid of all these bots and fake profiles.

    . All I see is transgender profiles that are clearly FAKE and many other fake profiles. I delete them (or hide them since Grindr got rid of block.) and NEW & different yet similar SPAM profiles appear within the same range. This app is honestly becoming unusable and it’s no wonder why it’s dying since every feature exists to leech as much money as they can from its users. Including these fake profiles so that you’re forced to buy premium to use filters so only what you’re looking for shows up.

16. Camouflage Features for Safety & Privacy

    Give us the option to change app name from “Grindr” to something else like Calculator or Browser (to safeguard users in anti-LGBTQ environments). And also if possible an option to change the app’s default yellow and black theme which almost everyone can recognize from a distance. This will increase safety and privacy for users

18. People use the block button way too fast... Maybe innovate a feature where messages to someone that has blocked you go into a special file.

    Maybe you can develop a special feature where if you message someone that has blocked you it goes into a special folder that can still notify the person that's blocked you that you have sent a couple messages and they could be limited... But first they are screened for any negativity or cruel intent first as a suggestion... But it could be a way for misunderstandings to be cleared up and keep people from treating each other as disposable... I've been blocked before over simple typos and before I had a chance to go back and correct it I was blocked. I think this is a novel idea and should be implicated and also track how often people block people and send notifications to someone who blocks a lot of people inquiring so that your you are able to manage your app more efficiently because it's a social app not an antisocial app... Figuring out how to connect people and connect more people improves the standard of your app.

19. Alternate chat colour screen

    With Grindr’s distinctive orange and blue chat bubbles it is very clear to another user, but specifically also to people with ill intent, exactly what app the person is chatting on.

    For the safety of all users can we please have a choice of chat window colours to either something user set, is bland and nondescript or at least appears like a chat window that mimics Messenger or WhatsApp colours.
