Bator to jo
I'm not a massive bator, but I know that it is a whole thing and it's not described as jo. I've spoken to others and they agree. I think it's a very bad idea to be changing it. It does not sound good.

Completely agree. This change is so asinine. Clearly there are no bators working at Grindr. You technically are into “jo” if you are a bator, but not everyone who is into “jo” is a bator. It’s become much more mainstream outside of bateworld in the last five years—an easy google search would enlighten the Grindr staff. It’s honestly no surprise that the term is getting conflated and watered down and misunderstood. I’m looking for other bators: penis-obsessed dong worshippers who want to bond over phallus. I’m not looking for some married DL masc guy who wants to silently jerk off next to me. Bring back the tag. Have not understood why you all can’t follow Scruff’s model of letting users input whatever tags they want.

Bator is more of an identity, a devotion to the act and seeking partners who want to experience it together. JO feels more like a singular act, wanting to use the app to sext and get pics. The Bate and Bator community feels like the change slights them.

Totally agree. Bator is the right term!
