1. App is overrun with spambots abusing tap feature

   As per the title, I'm finding Grindr to be increasingly unpleasant to use due to a dramatic uptick recently in fake profiles which are abusing the tap function in order to generate user engagement and funnel traffic to social media sites.

   The spam bots are incredibly easy to spot. For the most part they tap you without having viewed your profile, they typically only have one or two photos, they use the same 3-5 bios, and they link to a known set of social media accounts. They also tend to reuse the same photos.

   I will regularly have days where I have 2 to 4 pages worth of taps, all from these fake profiles. It's what prompted me to cancel my membership renewal, as I don't see the point to having a paid membership on the app if the majority of the engagement I'm getting is from fake profiles.

   I am not sure if the solution lies in better user verification, in limiting the tap function to users who have viewed your profile for at least X number of seconds, or an auto-moderation feature cracking down on any accounts linking to social media accounts known to be associated with this inauthentic user behavior.

3. Too many trans profiles clogging my grid

   I want to be welcoming and supportive of my larger LGBTQIA community, but can I go to Grindr without seeing what I'm not looking for--and not having to spend an hour hiding folks that aren't looking for what I'm looking for?

   I'm happy to share the platform, but can people please tag themselves as a member of a particular community so that I can sort and bypass?

   I've kinda lost all energy to use Grindr for this reason. It's broken. I'm not on Bumble. Or Ashley's List for a reason. Why do people make it so hard.

   Again, I totally support the community at large and i'm not attacking anyone. But if people don't identify and tag, half of my grid is simply stuff I'm completely not interested in.

   And I pay for this?
   And have to work at it?
   More than I should have to?

   More than any reasonable person would want to?

   Grindr and others need to do better.
   For fucks sake, people.

5. Trash greedy company

   I’ve never seen an app for the LGBTQ+ community handled this poorly. It feels like the company is only focused on making money rather than supporting the 🌈 community. The constant ads are overwhelming—appearing every few seconds—and they ruin the user experience. Lately, it’s become even worse with countless OnlyFans creators spamming ads and messages as soon as you go online. Honestly, I’m ready to delete this app for good.

10. Tap spam partial fix

    Most taps are now from more than 10 miles away from accounts that want one to join only fans and/or DM social media. These taps are basically spam. A setting to hide/delete taps more than X miles away would go a long way to alleviating the problem.

11. Improve Profile Grid Layout to Enhance User Interaction

    From my experience, the current grid layout displaying 3 profiles per row makes the interface feel cluttered and less inviting. It’s harder to focus on individual profiles, and that can reduce the likelihood of meaningful interaction between users.

    I believe switching to a 2-profile-per-row layout would significantly improve the visual experience. With more space for each profile, users could better appreciate the content and engage more naturally. This change would make the platform feel more intuitive and enjoyable, ultimately encouraging more interaction and connection.

13. Change your business model to provide a good product vs subscription fees to make less annoying

    Worst app ever. After all these years, I hate it. And I use a lot of apps.

    Can you please replace the CEO or VP of Product Design with someone who wants to build a team whose goal is to make a good product vs a bad product that you have to pay subscription feels to make less annoying.

    Grindr's Product Design Goals:
    Free = Bad UX.
    $$ = Less Bad UX
    $$$ = Very Average UX
    $$$$ = Same UX but with Features you don't want

    Paying for Unlimited should actually remove ads...but it doesn't. Ads show up in messages over and over and over and over...and over...and over...and over...and over. Additionally, you have these full screen pop up ads for your other upsell features.

    I hope whoever came up with that enhancement and UX, gets fired.

    I guess "no ads" means..."no ads others than ours". A pop-up ad or ads mixed in with message (same method the bots use) is the most low brow UX method for marketing and upselling. It's 2025 and your UI/UX teams are complicit, complacent, and out of touch.

    Ban the use of slang for meth, like ice and ice cubes emoji. Drug usage shouldn't be promoted on any profile. What people do in private is one thing but these profiles are public.

20. Sexuality preference selector

    In the user's profile, we should be able to select "gay, straight, bi, etc." And then only be shown profiles of people who match what we're looking for, while also only showing up for those people. I'm a gay man, on a gay dating app, and I'm sick of getting messages from women. Make grindr gay again (trump is bad and gross, I'm just stealing his slogan)
