2. Undo message likes

   Sometimes I accidentally double tap a message and like it without meaning to. This cannot be undone though. An option to undo, or a different interface requiring a press and hold to like a message would be helpful

3. Remove yourself from peoples favorite list

   It's kind of creepy how people can kind of a stalk you if they have you on their favorite list and worse if their account is premium and able to be incognito making it impossible to find and or block them at the very least people should be able to see who favorites them on say a separate tab labeled "favorited by" and it should be a free feature as it has the potential to play a role in a persons safety.

   many guys are ashamed to tell partners they have been suffering with std. Many guys block others after one time hookup. There should be an option to let know anonymously that std was detected to let people test themselves. it could me a massive notice to everyone I marked as Hooked-up within last 3-4 weeks.

6. I need access to an old conversation with someone who blocked me

   on September the 14th I met with a guy after having talking over grindr I ended up being the victim of a hate crime, that day I also lost my phone and SIM card, and was hospitalised. While I was on the clinic it was my family who was dealing with legal stuff, it is only until now that I’m back home and recovered all my accounts and phone line that I’m having to tell what happened to the attorney and lawyer and the attorney is telling me now that I need to show them my conversation with the man I met. Today that I finally accessed my Grindr account I see that the guy has already blocked me. I really need someone to help me in this case, what can I do to have access to a conversation with a guy who has already blocked me clearly in an attempt to delete proofs?

   Get notification that someone took screenshot of profile pics. And possibly remove screenshots itself.
   Just found someone blackmailing me with pics i hv on my Grindr profile...
   Sickens me that ppl go to so low levels.

8. Lag between sending and delivery of message

   Often it happens that a message has the status 'sent' under it for long, and the other person can't read the message yet, because even though it's been sent from my phone, they haven't received it yet. After a considerable lag, they are able to read it and the status under the message now reads 'delivered'. This lag needs to be fixed, along with a glitch of sending a message itself upon opening the app certain times

9. Seeing who tapped you is now only for unlimited?

   How infuriating. How can you make a feature that was always available to the community now something that has to be paid for? Taps have always been an easy way for people to let you k ow who’s interested in talking without having a whole bunch of conversations popping up and filling up your list, taking away from conversations you’ve already started.
   Just another ploy to make more money by driving people to your most expensive tier. Because you know it’s not working as it too expensive.

11. Make a second app.

    First of all I want to thank you for locking Grindr down to a point where I don't spend as much time on it. I'm not sure why I would pay to have people be rude to me. That being said these people that are looking for transgender only no guys yet they're still guys need their own app. You guys need to make a transgender app for these so called straight dudes can go and not be in here causing confusion and conflict.

12. Promotion of stigma related to HIV

    According to CDC there is no difference between Neg, Neg on Prep and Undetectable. Why to create such a difference in the app? It promotes stigma related to HIV and it’s not fair to those who use medication at all !!!!

14. Previously Chatted Indicator on Profile

    If there is a chat history with someone, have an indicator (coloured dot, or another graphic) that shows this. It will help avoid having to go into their message window to see if you’ve chatted before. Helps avoid awkward multiple “hey”s especially now that people can send the first message directly from the profile page.

    I sent the below email to Grindr
    tl;dr expand the Last Tested field so it includes more information to (1) avoid inaccurate interpretations, (2) curb the increasing rate of STIs, and (3) decrease healthcare costs

    Hi Grindr,

    Long-time paying user and current medical student here. Let me preface this outreach by saying that I don’t have complete insight into the topics discussed below; just enough to start a conversation. If I speak out of turn or any details are incorrect, feel free to clock me! And I also want to acknowledge the awesome changes that Grindr has already made to the platform for the sake of public health.

    Alrighty, I recently added the date of my last STI screen in my bio, with results and treatment details included. Grindr already has “Last Tested” as an optional, built-in field, but I wonder if someone could interpret that to mean only HIV testing since it appears directly below the “HIV Status” field. Moreover, when a medical provider orders an STI screen, they don’t always include HIV and sometimes not syphilis as well. Or they may only order specific tests for one pathogen depending on the patient’s medical history. So the field, in its current form, leaves important details open to interpretation.

    With STI rates through the roof and resistant strains rapidly developing, the medical community recently doubled the dose of antibacterials - azithromycin and ceftriaxone - needed to cure chlamydia and gonorrhea. If this solution were to continue, dosing would reach a limit. This dilemma would unearth the bigger issue that we don’t have many more pharmacological lines of defense against these pathogens and, sadly, pharmaceutical companies aren’t motivated to invest R&D into new STI drugs because there’s relatively less profit to be made in this vertical.

    I believe the queer community could take more responsibility in curbing the rising rate of STIs by being more open and proactive about infections with their partners. Many folks don’t feel the need to inform all their partners because their interaction was so brief and the pathogens are perceived as easily curable. Others may not share out of embarrassment or shame, but it’s nothing to be ashamed of! And - as we’ve seen with the HIV epidemic and COVID pandemic - bacteria and viruses naturally mutate to survive and we don’t know what could grip our or any community next. I think Grindr could help in this effort to be more open and proactive about infections by expanding the “Last Tested” field.

    The field could be tapped to open a drop down menu or lightbox with separate line items for each pathogen: gonorrhea, chlamydia, syphilis, trichomoniasis, and HIV. The information in adjacent columns could include the last test date, results, and treatment date (if necessary) for each. If Grindr wanted to get more granular, the results could include the location as well: throat, dick, and ass (I didn’t feel the need to use medical terms here). With this much detail, users could get a better idea of their risk level. And medical providers could order less and more targeted testing, as needless testing is a prevalent cause of unnecessary medical costs, which inflates insurance companies’ profits. These details would, of course, be optional. But I predict it would be a helpful way for users to inform their partners of any infections with little effort, no matter the nature of their encounter.

    Lastly, I have no insight into Grindr’s operating procedures and finances, but there’s possible funding streams for the development and execution of this effort via the CDC or other research bodies. I would be happy to help Grindr navigate this process. Or simply find out if it’s a viable option.
