3. Lgbtq fundamentals

   Too many users identify as allies but they know very little about trans competency. I think grindr has an opportunity and responsibility to help inform users about hot to communicate with people they're not used to experiencing. This will help people like myself get misgendered less and help make more meaningful connections.

5. Change “gear” tag to something that doesn’t also mean “drugs”

   In Australian English, and probably in a lot of other vernaculars as well, “gear” is slang for “drugs”. (Wiktionary just lists it as slang, so I’d guess it’s common across a lot of English dialects.)

   For every guy I get finding me through “gear” who is interested in hi vis or sports kit, I get about ten guys who want to sell or buy drugs. This is pretty annoying.

   I also assume Grindr as a company don’t want to be a platform for the trade of illicit drugs. So I’d suggest changing “gear” to something less ambiguous.

   I’m struggling to think of a tag to change it to… “clothes” is sort of technically correct but sounds completely wrong. “kit” kinda works but only really in British and some Commonwealth dialects.

   The tags glossary (would be helpful to integrate that better, too; when I’m adding tags to my profile it would be nice to know what they mean!) gives this definition for “gear”:

   Is aroused by fetish gear, such as harnesses, restraints, and the like.

   I’d say that’s not exactly what I mean by it, but you could just change it to “fetishgear” and keep the existing definition consistent while reducing ambiguity.

6. Separate options for oral preference (pitcher catcher)

   Other feature requests mention having “oral” as a position but that doesn’t help disambiguate. Some people may have certain oral preferences that are distinct from their anal preferences. The current preference system didn’t accommodate for the very very frequent use case of people looking for oral partners with compatible preferences.

   I very much apprieacte the safety of having album pics not being saved by others BUT I LOST ONE OF MY BEST PICTURES IN MY PHONE AND THE ONLY PLACE IT EXISTS IS MY ALBUM AND I HAVE NO WAY TO SAVE IT BECAUSE YOU CANT LET ME SCREENSHOT IT LET ALONE HAVE A SAVE OPTION. 14. Have a way to add your gamer tags to your profile like you psn tag and xbox tag

    Gamer tags could be added to profiles as an additional social media option. Scruff has this feature but I would much prefer having it on Grindr.

    If subscribers of Grindr are supposed to follow the “community guidelines “ in regards to pictures then Have a panel of volunteering, paying members only, who have the final decision in picture approvals. I travel a lot and it seems that when leave my catchment my standing profile pictures are now contravening the Grindr Torah, community guidelines. This happens because,Like anything else open to interpretation by humans the opinions are biased and driven by how that certain employee is feeling at that moment. It’s arbitrary and final when a picture is said to be violation their is no appeal process to challenge the banner’s decision. So with the panel of my peers, fellow paying subscribers would then like a jury, decide the fate of these offenders lol. You would think an employee of a company that facilitates men fucking other men would have thicker skin.

    I CAN'T THINK OF ANY PLATFORM WHO'S SOUL PURPOSE IS TO SEND MESSAGES AND CAN'T COMPLETE THEM HALF THE TIME. I COULD UNDERSTAND IF A MESSAGE EVERY NOW AND AGAIN GLITCHES, BUT JFC IT'S LIKE HALF THE DAMN MESSAGES. COME ON GRINDR, YEARS HAVE GONE BY AND I KNOW I'M NOT THE ONLY PERSON WITH THIS ISSUE. 19. Side position description

    I would love a feature where just like under “identity”, you can click next to “position” to lookup the definition. Side is a relatively new term and an information icon that would bring up a similar window would take a lot of the guess work out of conversations and would save a lot of “about me” space.
