Premium/ Extras/ Unlimited features should be only features
The three features should be exclusive privileges for paying customers who can enjoy benefits such as no ads, access to read and send messages, view online and last online status of other users. Additionally, they should be able to send and store unlimited pictures. Other advanced features may include video and voice calls.

Needs ethnicity filter as originally designed
As of December 1 I stopped paying for Grindr. I noticed all these ads popping up and the app is decidedly worse without paying for it. However, I wont give them another cent and ignoring things that we want and things that help us as the app was originally designed to do. Believe it or not it was better when it first came out. I don’t see any improvements worth paying for especially removing the ethnicity filter, which is my single most important reason for deleting my subscription.

When I "pay" to stream a movie for "free" by watching advertising breaks I am allowed to see the entire movie, so why am I "paying" for Grindr by watching advertising without having full access to all features?

Appear online only within x miles
I think the option to only appear online within a certain radius of your location would be beneficial.
This could be used for people who travel, giving them the ability to appear online where they are, but not appearing online to people from their hometown.
This would have to apply to anyone who has you saved as a favorite also.

STOP CATFISH. ADD VERIFIED PICTURES
OKCupid and other services already have this feature implemented. With the absolutely rampant abuse of catfish on Grindr, why why why is this not already a feature? It should be a REQUIREMENT of creating a profile. Facial recognition on signup and you can't post any pictures that don't match the verified face. The pictures don't have to show a face but if they do the verified face needs to be on them.

Make it possible to be invisible to other people in certain geographic areas like work or home for privacy.
This would allow you to not be seen by people near your home (neighbors) or coworkers. But even more importantly, for people like me who work in education, we wouldn’t have to worry about our students finding us if we forget to swipe the app closed before heading to work or something. Our students wouldn’t be able to find us by opening the app with a fake account they’ve created (not that hard to fake their age) and all the sudden there we are connected in a very inappropriate way because of our close proximity in that moment. Dont wanna see the same person on Feed all the time for whatever reason, but also dont want to block them! Should allow a Hide feature (like mute on twitter or a soft block)

when you block someone, possibility to choose "block all profiles that may come from the same user". this would avoid having to block the same person each time he creates a new profile or with a new email
