2. I would love to see language tags!

   That way I could search "English," "ASL," or "German" and if they have the language tag I could find them. This could help people who want to find others who speak their language or help people who want to learn a language by meeting new people!

   Quand on fait une recherche en fonction du poids ou de la taille, ce n’est pas toujours pertinent, car tout dépend en réalité de l’IMC de la personne.
   Une personne très grande peut avoir un poids élevé tout en étant parfaitement normale. À l’inverse, ce même poids chez une personne plus petite peut être considéré comme du surpoids, voire de l’obésité.
   De la même manière, une personne de petite taille avec un faible poids peut avoir une corpulence normale, alors qu’une personne très grande avec ce même poids pourrait être considérée comme trop maigre.
   L’idée serait que, lorsque l’utilisateur renseigne ou modifie sa taille et son poids, le système calcule automatiquement son IMC et l’intègre dans la base de données. Ensuite, lors des recherches, les utilisateurs pourraient filtrer les profils selon des catégories comme maigre, corpulence normale ou en surpoids, plutôt que selon la taille ou le poids seuls.

   I’m a long-time Premium subscriber, and I expect a smooth, well-designed, and logical app experience in return for the amount I pay. Unfortunately, Grindr continues to fall short in multiple ways. These are serious pain points that need immediate attention:

   Favourites used to exist as a separate, accessible grid—clean and user-friendly. Now, it has been moved into the Filters menu, which is confusing and inefficient. To view my favourite profiles, I need to clear all active filters. This completely defeats the purpose of saving favourites for quick access. It’s poor design and needs to be reversed. Please restore the Favourites grid as a dedicated, one-tap-access feature.

   1. Expiring Photos Still Glitch and Crash the App

   Sending an expiring photo regularly causes the app to freeze, lag, or crash altogether. This has been a persistent bug for a long time, yet remains unaddressed. It’s unacceptable that a core interactive feature causes such major disruption—especially when it’s part of the Premium offering. This should have been resolved long ago.

   1. Message Delivery System is Misleading

   Previously, if a user was offline and I sent them a message, it would show as “Sent.” This small feature helped users understand someone’s availability. Now, all messages show “Delivered,” regardless of whether the user is online or not. This removes a valuable cue, reducing communication clarity. For a Premium experience, there must be better visibility into real-time interaction.

   1. ‘Hide Profile’ Feature is Buggy and Unreliable

   The new “Hide Profile” feature does not function properly. Profiles that are hidden often reappear within seconds, and I sometimes need to open and close a profile multiple times before it finally hides or allows blocking. This inconsistency creates a frustrating user experience and should not exist in a professionally maintained app.

   1. Profiles Seeking Women or Couples Don’t Belong Here

   Grindr is a space designed for gay and queer men. Yet, there are numerous profiles stating “looking for women,” “girls only,” or “interested in couples.” These profiles are misaligned with the platform’s purpose and degrade the experience for those using the app as intended. If these users want such connections, they should be using other platforms—not Grindr. These profiles should be actively moderated and removed.

   Even after paying for Premium access and applying filters, the app often shows “No profiles nearby” after just using two or three filters. The algorithm needs serious refinement so that filters give realistic, usable results, not a blank screen.

   • Online Now Toggle: Separate from “Recently online”
   • Combo Filters: (e.g., “Top + Muscular” or “Bottom + Slim”)
   • Verified Profiles Only: Filter by voice/photo/video verified users
   • Kink/Fetish Filters: (BDSM, dom/sub, feet, etc.)
   • Availability: “Free now,” “Later,” or “This weekend”
   • Lifestyle Preferences: Smoking / drinking filters
   • Custom Distance Input: Type exact km or miles
   • Language or Ethnicity: Optional filters for cultural comfort
   • Filter by Photo Type: (Face-only, NSFW, album shared)
   • Sorting Options: Distance, Age, Last Seen, etc.

   These filters would drastically improve search accuracy and user satisfaction, especially for those paying for Premium access.

14. Default “Keep Phone Awake” setting to be off

    Always have the setting for “keep phone awake” off or at least by default. I swear that I’m not hiding anything, but no one wants to wake up to a dead phone or Grindr screen that screams out loud and clear that you didn’t get any, haha.

    I have been having an interaction with someone who I sent some money to via PayPal "friends and family", which I have used in the past and lost my money. That's not a big deal, as I view it like going to a casino with a set limit -- if it works out, I win, and if it doesn't I got some entertainment value. So that isn't why I am writing.

    I am writing because this person claims to be in my city. When I chat with someone new to me, I "favorite" him and then look at my list of favorites, which is sorted by distance. This one comes up about 600 meters from me.

    However, I suspect he might be using the "roam" feature. If that is the case, will he still appear on my "favorite" list as being near me?

    If that is the case, I have a suggestion for the safety of people like me. If someone who is "roaming" sends me a message (the first time, or perhaps every time) the message should indicate that the person is "roaming". This protects his privacy, as I would not know he's roaming unless HE sends me a message, and at the same time it protects MY safety.

    I love the app and hope this suggestion seems reasonable to you.

20. Remove explore restrictions on Xtra subscription

    Xtra now only allows tapping or messaging 5 profiles while exploring. This is such a bummer given the subscription amount we pay for this service. Now I need to upgrade to Unlimited version which is way too costly for exploring.
