   This would make it possible to avoid being banned for nothing, because the real identity will have been proven despite the reports of people who report out of disappointment rather than for a real reason.

   It's a win-win situation for everyone and avoids wasting time.

8. Report location spoofing

   Allow users to report suspected gps spoofing. When I go into this app to read a message and it says the person is 1 mile away and by the time I read the message and respond they are 345 miles away. It is not possible to do that and if you’re going to manipulate and lie about your location I’m going to assume you’re lying about other things and that you aren’t on this app to meet anyone and are probably in here for illegal reasons. I live in a rural area where most of the time the closest guy is 4 miles away and so I don’t want to have to deal with people faking their location. If you’re within a mile of me you live on 1 or 2 streets in 1 of about 50 houses. It’s real easy for me to pick up when someone is lying about their location.

10. Make Grindr T&C enforced on users fairly and transparently

    I would like to describe the situation that I was in and still am. I’ve dealt with impersonation, harassment, blackmail on the app and outside of it due to one person. He uses the paid grindr services. The reason why I know cuz he told me in the past and he has unlocked multiple albums and sent disappearing photos. I’ve reported him with overwhelming evidence of him calling me in derogatory terms, racist slurs due to my ethnicity on the app itself. I’ve provided screenshots of our conversation from telegram. The only answer I’ve received is “thanks for reaching out. We will look into it” and immediately getting banned for reporting a person. The idea of people with malicious intent having a get out of jail free card on a huge platform like Grindr is terrifying. The only thing you need for that is a Grindr subscription apparently.

17. Give warnings of any violation

    After being a long-standing user of Grindr, making use of all it has to offer in a respectful and honest way, two days ago my account got randomly banned. No warning. My profile had not changed and in my mind did not overtly break the guidelines. I would like warnings on such drastic action please...as this would help users to rectify any unintentional violation of Grindr‘a rules or guidelines. Removing a users account immediately without warning wipes away the access to a supportive network of people that user has come to know and trust. It also isolates the user at a time when vulnerabilities are at their highest. In fact, in my case, it left me in potential danger as I was meeting with a person from the app and was on my way to meet them as my account got banned. I was traveling far to meet this trusted person. The removal of my account stopped me messaging this person. At that point, I was in a vulnerable position in an unknown place unable to seek help and reassurance from the grindr user I had come to trust. To my original point, please give warnings if a user inadvertently breaks the rules as simply removing them does not help anyone. Users need to know the errors in order to change behaviour whilst using the app.
