2. Age searches downgraded

   You’ve changed the way people can search for ages.
   Previously I could search for any specific age by setting the same for minimum and maximum. Now we can only
   Search for ages in a five-year bracket.
   This is a deeply cynical move that consciously breaks functionality that was working perfectly well in earlier versions. Put it back.

3. Better moderation of fake profiles

   There needs to be better moderation of fake profiles because it doesn't look like there is any at all right now. There are more fake profiles than real people on the grid and you expect ppl to pay a pretty high fee to subscribe to an app that seems to get worse with each update instead of better. It feels like the only moderation done is when the people using the app report a fake profile. If we are paying for your service we shouldn't be doing the work that needs done, we aren't employees. Do better.

4. Suggestion for Stronger Spam Bot Controls

   I’d like to formally report and raise a concern regarding the increasing frequency of spam/bot accounts I’ve been encountering. Over the past several days, I’ve noticed a significant uptick in clearly fake accounts that are disruptive to the platform experience. Here are the specific patterns I’ve observed:
   1. Tapping Behavior
   • Today alone, I’ve received 27 taps from accounts of this type.
   • Over the last few days, I’ve reported each one as spam, but the issue persists.
   • These accounts repeatedly tap multiple times in short intervals, creating unnecessary notifications and noise.
   2. Account Profile Patterns
   • Nearly all have female profile photos, generally aged 25–38.
   • They typically include no additional profile details beyond the photo and age.
   • Despite claiming to be local, their locations often show as 100+ miles away, well outside of my filter range.
   3. Message Behavior
   • The spam accounts almost always send a single generic message directing me to an external website for sex or hookups.
   • The text is formulaic, with only slight variations across accounts (to avoid automated detection, I assume).
   4. Impact on Experience
   • The repeated taps and messages are frustrating and disruptive.
   • It makes the platform feel less safe and authentic, as real connections are drowned out by constant spam activity.

   Suggestions for Improvement
   To help curb this growing issue, I’d like to suggest:
   • Stronger detection filters: Look for patterns such as repeated identical messages, profiles with no details, or repeated taps from accounts outside a user’s set distance.
   • Rate limits on taps/messages: Prevent newly created accounts from sending large numbers of taps or messages in a short period.
   • Photo and account verification prompts: Encourage or require verification for accounts that fit these common spam patterns.
   • Smarter spam reporting feedback loop: When multiple users flag accounts with identical behavior, those accounts should be automatically disabled more quickly.

   I appreciate the ongoing efforts to keep the Grindr community safe, but I believe these measures could significantly reduce the current wave of spam.

5. Moderate profiles better. Lately every 4th profile is the say girl with the same clothes, they are obviously spam

   Moderate profiles , if you don’t pay you have to verify or something to prevent all the fake GIRL profiles. Then there are the bots. Seriously for 300 hire some decent consultants and have your systems trained using genAI to weed out the non real profiles.

7. Get rid of AI generated profiles

   I've enjoyed Grindr for many year but in the last month or so it is becoming increasingly unusuable for a gay man looking to meet other men.
   The app is getting overrun with fake profiles, using AI generated photos purporting to be Transwomen. I've also seen some profiles purporting to be Cis women. The latter raises a serious question about what Grindr is - inclusivity is one thing, opening it up to all comers is quite another. Inclusivity taken to it ultimate conclusion just results in invisibility of those who Grindr started out trying to serve.
   My other question for you is about Grindr's monetisation strategy. I have noticed adverse changes to the offering for non-subscribers. First it was removal of the ability to block profiles on the grid; this became "hide" and meant that the number of profiles visible decreased. Then there was the change to age filtering. Initially age could be filtered in yearly increments, then it was 3-yearly increments and now it is 5. And with this latest change, filtering for age reduces the number of profiles in the grid.
   Now putting together my two questions - is Grindr deliberately tolerating the fake profiles so that they crowd out the grid available to non-subscribers and deliberately preventing users from blocking such profiles to stop them circumventing this monetisation strategy?
   Are my suspicions well founded or am I being a conspiracy theorist?

9. Remove IG and OF "Ads"

   I spend most of my time Hiding tons of these profiles, many of them which just come back and Tap me. It's crazy how much space they occupy. I guess they're "paying" customers but it's so freaking annoying. It makes me want to leave the platform.

10. Feature: Prevent messages from too far away

    A good paid feature would be to prevent people messaging you if they are too far away. Anything over 25km away is generally a bit pointless. Often a waste of time asking each other how you are for a few days.

11. Remove explore restrictions on Xtra subscription

    Xtra now only allows tapping or messaging 5 profiles while exploring. This is such a bummer given the subscription amount we pay for this service. Now I need to upgrade to Unlimited version which is way too costly for exploring.

15. Do not reset the filters

    Is it possible that each time I open the app the filters stay as I set them? I am TIRED get back to the default settings and see profile I obviously have no intention to see because I have SET FILTERS.

    Each update is really worse than the previous one and there is one once a week, it's like you collectively brainstorm about how to make this app more and and more unfriendly to use.

    Grinders treatment of its users has become is disrespectful as any app I can recall. Generation of multiple fake profiles that are duplicated every 40 to 50 mi in the grid serve no purpose whatsoever besides diluting the grid in The continued lack of respect grinder has for its users and the obscene level of greed this company embraces. $20 a month for an app is a lot. $40 is insane but people pay it myself included. Not because it is worth it but just because the app is so fucking terrible. If you don't have it it becomes basically unusable. And that is referring to the app going back a few years today. Not having one of the premium subscriptions means the app is no more than an ad generating POS. I cannot believe unmitigated Gall of this company intentionally create dozens of fake profiles. Repeat them every 40 or 50 mi. They're not selling anything. They're not spam. They are designed to look on the surface like real profiles but they're obviously not. Brian are said they wanted to eliminate spam and they wanted to get rid of all this other stuff. Well at least the spam was real and not made by the company who made the app for no reason besides making the user experience as unpleasant and frustrating as possible to try to force people into spending money on it. I've paid $40 a month for quite some time more out of habit than anything. 0 everybody has suffered through this garbage and these terrible clunky apps. This terrible redesigns apps crashing constantly. Nothing working right. It just being nothing but a complete klusterfuk but people still pay for it. Thank you for encouraging me with your there's a complete lack of respect for your customer base along with rewarding Customer loyalty by intentionally making your product worse knowingly creating junk profiles just to force people to have to pay for your product to use it. I'd always thought pretty low of the company but I hoped in time that they would improve and thought by beta testing and paying for it and trying to be involved. Maybe I could provide some insight or offer anything to help improve an app that has been around for a long time consistently gets worse. But I see now that that I was stupid and played for a fool by this company. Just like everybody else that's paying for it and using it. I for one will not ever buy a subscription or give them another dime. In fact, I think the best route will be to delete all of my data from the app and then uninstall it and find something else. Paying $500 a year. This company work at making their product as poor as they can in order to try to get people who aren't paying for it to pay for it is unconscionable. Everybody's ripping consumers off these days. We all know that but this is so egregious and insulting that I for one would rather not use anything than endorse this company. Your loyalty is noted the onger you've been a customer and the more you have paid Grindr. They document it because the more you give them and the more loyal you are, the more they spit in your face. The audacity and complete disregard for the customers who have made this trash app. What it is should be repaid back to grinder in kind ideally with nobody paying for it anymore and them either selling it shutting it down or making at least some semblance of a working, scalable product. Seems like it would be a great place to work. Go in everyday instead of improving things do your best to find ways to make a bad product worse. 20. Screen your profiles better

    You need to do a better job screening out the spammers from your profiles. And all the fake profiles that keep getting created. It is getting ridiculous when 75% of the profiles are fake people
