    I moved from unpaid to paid for 1 month to try. I allowed my current location to be set and now lost pretty much everyone around me.
    It's not showing everyone from the country next door.
    What is the point of that?

13. Local business owners

    Local business owners could pay a premium fee and receive a special icon and thus be able to promote their businesses on here many other apps do it I don't know why it's not allowed on here and plus an ad for something local is a lot easier to swallow than social media and video game ads that you guys are currently running

14. That my page is full of guys hundreds of miles away and very few locals

    Just get people close by. I do believe this varies from location to location. I was in Spartanburg SC last week and lots of their locals on the page. I’m Birmingham Al it’s really bad that’s for sure. Very few locals

17. Longer bios

    Allowing for more characters in bio allows one to flesh out personal details, desires, info, etc, as opposed to using shorthand. Those who want to keep bios brief can, but as Grindr seeks to expand and cater to different crowds, perhaps a longer bio could help with diversifying the app’s usage.

    a friend and I who are both on grindr were talking about our experiences on the app and they were talking about how they don't get a lot of attention because they're fat, and I at first boiled it down to fatphobia/body shaming, and out of curiosity I used the weight filter and put in 300+ lbs minimum to see if my friend would come up, and the results automatically switched to XTRA/Unlimited and I couldn't see my friend's account unless I paid a monthly premium. We tried the same thing with a low maximum weight and it did the same thing. By no means am I a chubby chaser or have stupid expectations for how much someone should or shouldn't weigh, but it's weird and arguably discriminatory to make some peoples' dating profiles harder to access on the basis of their weight. sounds like grindr is trying to make a buck off of weight fetishists instead of giving over or underweight people a fair chance at being seen, and that's not okay!

20. Extortion and blackmail as a result of cat fish unverified accounts

    Grindr, to the best of my knowledge, is the only platform of its kind that does not verify users. Now I acknowledge that Grindr will not confirm this, but at least 25% of all active accounts are troll/cat fish accounts that are on the platform for the sole objective of masking their identity to lure legitimate users in, only to steal our (sometimes intimate) personal property. I've been extorted and blackmailed not to mention that due to the fact that Grindr hasn't made the slightest bit of progress on this major issue, there is a major erosion of trust and I can't help but wonder why things that (for the most part) nobody cares even the slightest about (such as cookies) are being pushed whereas the overwhelming majority has been demanding this for years. Although I'd love for every user to be required to post a verified photo of themselves, I realize that this wouldn't be received well so I'd be satisfied if Grindr created their own internal process where upon registration of a new account, ID is verified. This provides users with their autonomy while ensuring the safety and mutual respect of other users.
