1. Messages don’t appear when sent. Sometimes taking a day to get a notification.

   Messages not appearing whilst online. Sometimes not appearing until 24 hours after they’ve been sent. Same with taps, but which time they’re timed out and you can’t respond.

5. HSV (Herpes) and more disclosure options on profiles

   I would love to have an option to disclose being position for HSV 1 without typing it out in my profile.

   That sort of disclosure being “Grindr-sanctioned” would take a huge weight off the shoulders of so many who suffer from the shame and stigma of this virus, even though nearly half of Americans have HSV 1 and one in five have HSV 2.

   Grindr has led the way in normalizing disclosure of HIV status and reduced so much of the stigma and shame associated with that virus. Can it please do the same for HSV (Herpes)?

   I can see this working for other viruses that people worry about too, like HPV (many folks in their 30’s and 40’s+ were not vaccinated for it), and honestly, who knows what else will come along in the future?

   Help us normalize disclosure on profiles by adding a profile field for this, please.

7. Relevant Ads

   Have ads that are relevant to the user.
   A partnership with onlyfans for instance to show profiles of creators based on filters the user has put in. Example: top, interested in bears show ads to bears on OF.
   Example: Bottom interested in trans show trans tops(or just trans) on OF.

   This would be much more relevant than the ads we see for games etc.

   Also having an anonymous way to pay for Grindr and a more affordable subscription model would be nice.

10. Prevent Vanishing Profiles When Blocked

    There are times where I hit it off well with people, only to find at times that they're impatient the block me moments later. Often I'm busy with other chores or checking my phone for something else.

    Their profiles immediately vanish which is a rather harsh and find it psychologically upsetting to take away an entire convo with someone you were being up rapport with. Instead of an "instant vanish" the profile and convo should be there stating "You cannot message this user" or "User has blocked your profile"

    Often, on the reverse -- many gays have said offensive, hateful vitriol but you can't even report them because they send then immediately block. Those who harass tend to be "the victors" making it psychologically and emotionally unsafe for those trying to use this app. I say this as a gay man -- never mind those who identify as non-binary or trans.

13. New filter for unwanted messages and taps

    Why don’t you create a feature into the app that allows to send messages and taps only to guys that are in the range of the age selected? I don’t care if I receive messages from guys out of my preferred age (e.g. I select 30-50 but receive contacts from 18-29 or older than 50), however I know many people that are complaining for that since they have activated notifications and they lose time for nothing.

18. Verifying every user when they first sign up- too many profiles with NO pictures!

    For verification purposes. Like tinder and MOST other dating/hookup apps have some sort of photo verification system to prove that it’s actually who you say you are. I am SO SICK OF ALL THESE USERS ON GRINDR WITH NO PHOTOS! in my opinion, I think it should be a requirement that if you want to be on Grindr then you need to have a clear, visible unaltered face picture of what you look like, so other members can see who all is in the room AND it’s especially annoying when those exact people with no pictures on their profile go and message someone….. leaving the receiver confused, frustrated and wondering what this person looks like…. Honestly, it’s really just frocking COMMON SENSE AND RESPECT. I mean if you’re that afraid to put your face pic on Grindr, then maybe YOU shouldn’t be on the GAY app! Just sayin’! And I know I’m not speaking for just myself either! PLEASE GRINDR SOFTWARE APPLICATION DEVELOPER- PLEASE 🙏 HELP TO MAKE GRINDR A BETTER PLACE FOR EVERYONE TO FEEL COMFORTABLE, without having to worry about if their going to be “the next one” to be messaged by the DREADFUL pic less profile person. 20. The freaking inbox refreshes everytime I tap the 'return' or 'back' button of my phone.

    The inbox used to be NOT REFRESHING everytime I go back to my thread list. But NOW IT ALWAYS REFRESHES which irritates the hell out of me. Because I have user profiles that are pinned to top.

    Also the RED indicator that shows A NEW MESSAGE has been received shows EVEN IF I DID NOT RECEIVE any messages. It shows as well WHEN I SENT the other user a chat and when I check if there were any chats that I received, to my surprise, there was none.

    As of writing this topic. The issue started happening 2 updates from February. Im not sure if that was mid of the month that I decided to update the app. I never intended to update the app because I am happy with the version of the app prior to the new update last month.

    And the new update is totally irritating. Its annoying as hell!
