So, you want to censor folks from using terms that YOU personally don't like in THEIR profiles?
Not people who ATTACK you personally, using their terms...you just don't like seeing these terms.
Gotcha.
Newsflash, honey: I see PLENTY of profiles with folks using terms like "sissy" and "cross dresser" to describe THEMSELVES. Maybe YOU don't like those terms, but apparently they do. So basically, fuck off.
Also "sex slave" has literally nothing to do with being trans. Or straight. Or gay. Or bi. Or male. Or female.
If your virgin ears are too delicate to endure someone looking for a "sex slave" (or offering to be one) on a site that was originally built for gay dudes to find other gay dudes to fuck...then you need to sign off and go read a book. -

A "straight" guy looking for sex with a trans girl could not be further away from gay/bi men seeking sex with other men.
They don't play well together, and it makes no sense to stick them in the same sandbox.
You know Grindr has become a parody of itself when you have "straight" guys bitching about having to block all the DUDES sending them pics...

Good for you. You know what you like.
All we're asking is to provide filters so you and everyone else can tailor their experiences to help them find WHAT THEY LIKE.
It saves everyone time and trouble. -

Palm Springs is my happy place as an adult gay man. It’s where I truly feel myself, able to relax and connect with my tribe. The vibe is unmistakable: time slows down, everything is chill, chic, and serene, yet still vibrant without being loud or obnoxious.
Lately, though, going out on the town has become a fiasco. You’re lucky to avoid multiple gaggles of straight women, decked out in tiaras and sashes, completely out of control for bachelorette parties. They're turnt up, drunk, howling, bounding around like bulls in a china shop, and squealing with unbridled delight every time someone brings them more shots.
I recently took my elderly parents to a favorite, classic restaurant—a place that’s been around forever. Inside this modest, usually classy spot, there were *four* bachelorette parties, one in each corner. My folks hated every minute. The music was cranked up to drown out the giddy, guffawing gals in these groups, making it nearly impossible to hear each other. We had to lean in close to filter out the noise. We plowed through our meals, got the check, and left as fast as we could, still stunned by the chaos inside that had invaded this once warm, welcoming space.
You can imagine what they’re like later in the evening when they stumble out to the gay bars to gaze and gawk at the local denizens, like drunk and horny haridans on safari.
Grindr is starting to feel like that.

Because apparently it's unacceptable and bigoted to be a gay man who only wants to fuck other gay men.
SHAME ON YOU for thinking you still have the right to fuck only who you want to fuck.

No, don't you get it?
It's no longer OKAY for you to be a gay man who is only attracted to other gay men. Sure, the community fought for decades (centuries?) for the right to openly seek the relationship you truly desire.
But we've moved well past that.
Now you HAVE to be open to having sex with absolutely ANYONE.. or else you're a bigot.
This is an example of "woke" becoming a parody of itself. It's wrapped around and begun eating its own tail.
Wake the fuck up, Grindr. Perhaps someday we will truly be a race-less, gender-less society where everyone will fuck anyone. That would be kind of cool in many ways.
But.
We're not that society now, and pretending that we are is just stupid and childish.
I'll be brave and say it for you:
It's OKAY to be a gay man who only wants to fuck other gay men.
PHEW! LIBERATION!

Honestly it's baffling and offensive when I read profiles from "straight" guys that dismissively declare, "NO DUDES".
I'm like...hang on.
Am *I* in the wrong space? I thought this was GRINDR.

Filters (at least) would make the experience better for EVERYONE (filters not just for gender/identity, but race as well).
You may not like that most gay men don't want to have sex with trans women. Sorry 'bout it. You may be utterly disgusted by White guys that only want to have sex with Asian guys, or Black dudes that aren't interested in Latin dudes. Tough shit. It's none of your concern. And tut-tutting about it isn't going to change that, even if it makes you feel superior doing so.
Showing profiles to people who have ZERO INTEREST in meeting them wastes everyone's time - on both sides of the equation. There are plenty of people in the world who do NOT want to have sex with a 53 yo white gay dude...FINE. Save us both the trouble and filter my old, pasty ass OUT of their grid!Vers Play supported this idea ·

This should be an absolute no-brainer.
Grindr is moving from a purpose-built space for men seeking other men to an anything goes free-for-all.
Do I want "straight" guys to find trans women for sex? SURE. Get that pussy, dudes!
Do I want woman to find "gay" guys who also sometimes like to fuck chicks? ABSOLUTELY!
Do I want to wade through 100s of profiles of people that I will never have any interest in meeting - and will never want to have sex with me? NOPE.
So...either tighten up the space to get closer to its original purpose (and create unique spaces for those others), or grow up and provider better, useful filters.
Trust me, it will save EVERYONE time and trouble.Vers Play supported this idea ·

"I mostly see gay men..."
Well yeah, as this is supposed to be an app for men who have sex with men.
How about you go on HER and complain about the lack of profiles of straight men? -

There's an app called Feeld that is more of a wide open space for anyone looking for relationships that are not heternormative.
Grindr is (was) a space for men who have sex with men (okay sure, with some wiggle room).
But when I see profiles of folks who present as and consider themselves straight women - and then of course, here come the "straight" men looking for those women ("No dudes!" they warn), it just doesn't make sense.
Cyberspace is infinite. No reason to invade spaces that were not created for you.
I agree, but would argue that it's not a "fine line" between gay guys looking for other gay guys for sex, and "straight" guys looking for trans girls.
There's a huge fucking chasm between those two things, and forcing them to play together just makes no sense.
