Blocking the race/ethnicity filter, implies that Grindr is demanding that its users must be equally open to meeting, and be attracted to, ALL races and ALL ethnicities equally! Meantime…the San Francisco dating history of Grindr CEO George Arison clearly demonstrates his strong preference for Asian men (including his current husband who is Asian). So…I guess it’s OK for him to have an obvious racial preference but Grindr users are forced to pretend that they are color-blind and don’t have preferences?!?! Perhaps the CEO should spend *MORE* time living in the real world (where people, including himself, are attracted to particular ethnicities for a myriad of reasons and that is OK) and *LESS* time tweeting his support of the most anti-LGBT president the US has ever had, Donald Trump (quote of his tweet: “I am a conservative & agree with some Trump policies”)!

My advice is: if you can’t beat them, join them! I recently set-up a profile as a gay male on the transgender dating siteTranslr a while ago. At first the moderators gave me a lot of hassle and wanted me off the site but they refused to say why out of concern for being seen as discriminatory against an LGBT person who just happens to identify as cis male (get over it man haters!). Anyway it’s a great way to get dick, it’s a very untapped market. More gay men should join it.

Other apps, such as Scruff, have this option and it is very helpful in finding people. It would be a nice addition to Grindr also.

Could there also be an option for reporting when “I feel offended that the guy I’m chatting to is offended that I’m offended”? I’d like to use this report option on a constant basis while I reside permanently in my safe-space, thanks.

Grindr thinks that gay men = trans women, which is why they lump us all itogether in the same search. Despite Grindr’s poorly executed and overly PC attempts to be inclusive of everyone, their actions demonstrate disinterest and contempt for the unique identities that are part of the LGBT+ family.
We are being forced to pretend that none of us have any ethnicity preferences and that we see everyone in the same exact monotonous way or else we risk being called “racist”. The political correctness on Grindr these days is shocking. For example, I recently reported an underage trans woman (more like girl) who was offering her “services” if I were “generous”. I did not engage with her but for her own safety I felt that reporting her was the best thing to do. The response I got from the moderator was “not to shame a trans woman”, which is a stupid PC response.
Anyway: restore the ethnicity filter NOW!
