Not only should it be restored, all profiles should be REQUIRED to fill that information on their profile, in addition to all the others, except "tribes" as that doesn't necessarily mean anything.
In the meantime, users should grow a pair and include an ethnicity filter THEMSELVES by way of an emoji, such as 👨🏻🤝👨🏾 or 👨🏽🤝👨🏾

Why is adding an ethnicity filter so hard? I I can "descriminate" against tall, overweight, top/bottom, location, if I wanted to... ADD THE FUCKING ETHNICITY FILTER!! I PAY ANNUALLY FOR SOMETHING THAT SOMETHING THAT DOESN'T MEET MY EXPECTATIONS FOR THE COST!! I'm about to cancel this subscription if Grindr doesn't make changes. I know it's not a lot in the grand scheme, but I'll tell Every gay guy I know to avoid Grindr and why.
